How do I hop onto mp with my "early" version. I have two cd keys from steam.. I entered the promo key into my "early" version but it won't let me connect to ea online.

I can log into my ea account but when ever it tries looking for servers, it gives me an error saying it cannot connect to ea online.

Can't get on any servers, either the server is full (interesting, I thought 4/24 was nowhere near full...) or it tells me to check my network connection (which is perfectly fine and stable...)
sad times :( I WANT MP!

What did you expect with a pirated copy, anyway, maybe the hack for the no cd isnt helping you.

Absolutely disgusting.

Just bought this game, brand new, on the day of release, installed it and...

... I cant play it until its spent half the evening downloading a patch.

A PATCH?

On RELEASE DAY?

Why do companies keep palming off shoddy un-tested products on it? Seriously, is there ANY quality control?

I removed the hacks. I just used the default files and then I added all those files to my steam folder... steam then downloaded 1gb of something and it launched...

I just can't seem to connect.

I don't see the problem. Loads of games have had release day patches.

They can't work on the game forever until its 100% perfect. They have to ship it out at the best possible playable state they can.

You dont see the problem shipping games with known issues?

Fair enough for issues discovered POST release, a patch a few weeks after it comes out, sure. But to buy a new game, get it home, go to play and realise you cant until you download a patch just stinks.

Isnt the promo key for the unlocks, i think you need the cd key, which is 20 digits long, the promo key is 16 digits.

Not to sate the obvious, but I guess it takes about two weeks to stamp/package and distribute the release. So in that 2 weeks they found a problem, do you want them not to fix it straight away?

Actually the patch was out on Tuesday, I got it just fine then ;)

Anyway, what would you rather. If they picked up a bug after the game had gone to press then they would have had to either release a patch or do a full recall (at great expense). Sure, games shouldn't be released with bugs but in todays market with publisher pressure to launch it's not always possible to pickup everything. So you either end up with a major delay while they cancel printing the game and fix it or they release a patch. I'd rather have a patch.

I've got used to games not working the day they come out or even 2 years after they have been out.

Nothing you can do, just download it and get on with it. Sucks I know because my download speeds after 5pm go to 2.5mb from 8mb (bt).
