You dont see the problem shipping games with known issues?

Fair enough for issues discovered POST release, a patch a few weeks after it comes out, sure. But to buy a new game, get it home, go to play and realise you cant until you download a patch just stinks.

I'd rather download a release day patch and have the game working properly than have no patch at all.

The release day patch fixes bugs flagged in the beta which obviously only ran for a month before release. By this time I'm sure it was too late to implement any of the fixes they were working on in order to comply with their release date (There will be numerous reasons behind why delaying would cost A LOT of money) because of how long it takes to go gold, make the discs and shipping them out worldwide. In hindsight, sure it might have been better to run the beta a bit earlier, but maybe they weren't ready.

Unfortunately there are ALWAYS going to be problems when your making games these days because of how complex they are. At least they are making the effort to fix them as soon as is possible. Not everything is as perfect as an E39.

To be honest, I'm not really enjoying this game as much as I would've MW2.

I've been holding off buying MW2 but I always love the Larger scaled maps, vehicles etc.

but I'm finding the controls for vehicles clunky, maps smaller than I'd thought they'd be, Horrible animations and generally small things which are annoying me.

I'm enjoying it but it's not nearly as good as when I played BF2, MW etc.

Guess I was too optimistic :\.

and also because I ordered it from coolshop I think I've got a German version of the game because the rating on the disc says "18 USK" so I don't think I'm going to get the free map packs.

Great fun so far really needs autobalance on the teams though been in quite a few games where people just jump over to the winning team and completly outnumber the others.

not had any problems with the game since yesterday morning.

I think I could be enjoying it slightly morem your right about the maps now I think about it some of them do seem quite small, from the 1st bad company on 360 there were a few that were really big but again I haven't tried all the maps so I can't really comment

any one have any ideas why i cant connect to a online game...all my other games work and i know it says some people are having problems but my son can connect and i cant....

Fox is absolutely bang on the button.

It seems acceptable to release unplayable or games with major known issues. i.e. AvP3, SH5 and no doubt more to come. They have a duty to the consumer to ensure that the game does what it says on the tin. More and more that doesn't seem to be the case. :(

I would seriously doubt that Fox would buy his new 5 series without it being painted and then told , oh we'll do that later. ;)

To be fair to them this went gold a week or two after the beta came out so they ironed out faults in the beta but how were they supposed to do that on the game when its out for printing etc ?, so they find the faults with the beta and release a patch on release to help.

Unfortunately people experience a wide diversity of problems and issues. One might need a patch to just iron out a few creases but nothing too serious, another gamer may need a patch just to enable them to play it at all.

This is one of the best things about BC2. The vehicle controls are realistic. Of course they are clunky, you are in a bloody tank! ;)

I'm not playing it for a realism factor, I'm playing it to have fun :D.

I used to love flying the heli in BF2 but because the maps are small in this I'm finding it quite boring.

also I dont think the vehicle controls are "realistic", I think it's more the camera angle thats bugging me, especally 3rd person on the quad bike.

Absolutely disgusting.

Just bought this game, brand new, on the day of release, installed it and...

... I cant play it until its spent half the evening downloading a patch.

A PATCH?

On RELEASE DAY?

Why do companies keep palming off shoddy un-tested products on it? Seriously, is there ANY quality control?

Because the game went gold when the beta was about halfway through, as of that point the beta was mainly for weapons balance and server load testing. Any needed updates can be applied with a patch.

Bf1942 also had a day one patch, wasn;t 300mbs worth but it still had a day 1 update. Its out of dices hands as EA wanted the game to be released on the date they set.

And realistically it makes no difference if the patch comes on release day or two months down the line, the ps3 and 360 verison will also be getting updates as the game rolls on and exploits\bugs are found.

Even beta testing cannot hope to find all the niggly bugs that only a retail product can bring to light. Doesn't matter how many pc configs they try, theres always gona be one slightly different that has issues the rest don't.

People who can't get into a game who have used the beta or a pirate version uninstall them totally and delete the save files in documents.

After this update punkbuster.
