Does this game need a quad core? i only have a dual core and a lot of modern games seem to need quad to get decent FPS, what kind of CPU do you need to ge good performance out of this game?

I use an ancient amd 5200+ dual core with a 5850 and get around 30-40 fps solid on medium graphics.

One thing they need to do is make it easy to configure the 360 controller on this. I'd like to use for single player at least, but it just won't work. Doesn't even recognise the right analog - and I have tested it with Batman to make sure it's working ok.

Gaaah. Still not sure if I should get this on Steam or not. If I were to buy the disc version, would I still be able to register it on Steam so that I can use the friends list to join games and stuff?

Wow. This game must be more CPU bound than I realised.

My system:
I3 530 @ 4.2
4870 @ 830

At 1920x1200 all high, 4XAA and HBAO I tend to get around 40 FPS.

Without HBAO I get about 60/70 FPS.

As you have a more powerful GPU, your CPU must be holding it back loads.

me and some mates are looking into getting a mulitplay server for this tonight. Think we can manage 24 player for 6 months quite easy.

This would be the first server for any of us, how much work is involved in the admin and upkeep? Is it quite easy to setup and go?
Of course you will all be welcome!

Im at work till 4 and cant do much from ggme mobile here

Yeh mate, my cpu is holding it back tonnes. I have HBAO off, everything medium and 1x AA at only 1440 res. Can't wait to get a Phenom II or I5 etc.

Using EADM version and 0 issues, SLI working and everything on max details looks stunning :)

Played for about 3 hours straight on the OCUK server this morning and had some fun battles.

The main issue I have is the gameplay is the insta spawn death rinse and repeat cycle.

There needs to be some invulnerability time when spawning as a defender as its a rubbish game spawning then dieing and over and over again!

Hey I have a solution, download my zipped file here Download xpadder 360 controller.7z for free on uploading.com , it has the latest xpadder program, plus the two config files for an already pre-configured xbox 360 controller assigned to the bad company 2 controls

It does not need to install just extract to desktop, it has rumble enabled for firing and some very light rumble for sprinting/chucking nades and jumping, the ONLY buttons that I haven't been able to map are the change vehicle seats because I ran out of space :p but you can use the keyboard for that

ALSO you will have to disengage the joystick controls on bad company 2

Enjoy
