bc 2 is a much easier game to learn/play than bf 3 so keep at it ;)

Definitely recommend hardcore mode over normal as normal is a complete and utter joke in this game with the spotting and taking an entire mag to kill people.

Get good with the AT4 and you will be able to take any heli down! some good youtube guides, however, it all comes down to practice and just taking shot after shot, you will miss pretty much every single shot by miles for the first 10-15 matches or so :p but once you start to notice/learn how the helis move, speed etc. and how fast to move the mouse for guiding the missile and when to turn etc. you will be able to take down any heli no matter the distance (as long as you can still see it :p) and at some point start doing fancy moves with the rockets!

Best tip I can give is to learn the maps of by heart so you know every single area and where people are likely to go/hover around.

Cheers bud this is good advice.
I found once i learnt the maps on bf3 it became a whole lot easyier :)

No problem :)

Yup, knowing the maps really well is probably the most important thing for any multi player FPS game.

Few other tips:

Recon is a superb class to use, the ghille suit is a huge advantage especially on the jungle maps, it really does confuse some enemies as to if you are on their team or not when up close (on hardcore, thanks to it, I have been able to go on many knifing streaks that would not have been possible if I was playing as some other class :p :D), combined with the motion balls and either the SVU or vss (this is a tricky weapon to use, fire in very short bursts as the bullet spread is crazy, sometimes the hit reg. seems completely of with that gun compared to other guns ), you are a silent but deadly soldier. The GOL is the best long range sniper imo, extremely accurate and no scope sway.

Engineer's best weapon from my experience is the uzi, crazy good at medium-long range. 9a-91 is also really good.

IIRC with the medic, I used the MG 3 a lot

For assault, the M416 and M16 are the best. F2000 is a great weapon if you are often in close range (which with rush mode is quite often :p if you are an aggressive player). The noob tube is essential too!

Best Pistol imo is the M9 (use to be the M1911)

As for perks, can only remember using magnum bullets and for vehicles extra armour or smoke (vital for the heli, this is flares)

People like to use mines/C4 in this game a lot so always keep an eye on the ground (especially where there are holes and the ground is black or has a tree etc. covering it)

all in all, I would say eng. and recon are the best classes to use. But if you want loads of points then the medic, you are essentially Jesus and Rambo in one! :D

And if you really want to rake in the kills, get a good pilot and practice with the mini gun in the blackhawk (use the left mini gun as it is harder for people to shoot the pilot out then), no joke, people think the apache gunner seat is good, even OP at times, it isn't even close to a good mini gunner :p ;) Just need to know/learn where abouts the bullets impact etc. Some people use blue-tac (since in hc you don't have the hit/aim markers) but I personally prefer not to.

EDIT:

The UAV is extremely useful when pushing forward especially with the smoke attachment. But make sure you always keep and eye on "yourself" as you are guaranteed to get some base raper noob, tbh, try to find a server where people get kicked/banned for base raping (at least for the attackers on rush mode) as it can ruin the game imo and unfortunately it happened a lot during my time of playing this (at least until I found good servers)

Recon gets even better once you unlock weapons like the G3, M14. For aggressive recon theese are excellent. Also pack some c4 and go tank/apc hunting. It's much easier in this to sneak up on tanks than in bf3.

My favourite assault weapons were the steyr AUG and the M16A2, both with an underslung grenade launcher. Magnum ammo in any class gives a really nice boost.

Ah yes, the C4 is awesome in this game! :D So much better than the mortar. Such a shame that DICE messed up the classes in BF 3, recon really is useless now :( At least they have improved them in bf 4.....

Personally I really didn't like the G3, just couldn't get on with it (same in bf 3 as well), I just can't deal with the slow rate of fire :o :p, played much better with the vss/svu up close, found the vss really good for hip fire too (saying that I found hip fire to be pretty accurate throughout the game especially compared to BF 3)

Forgot about the AUG, it is a great gun too.

G3 in bf3 is a waste of a weapon slot tbh mate, once you get used to it in bc2 it's awesome. With a x4 scope it can garner some crazy long range kills. I find all the weapons in bc2 to be more capable than bf3 in its latest form. I can remember in the beta and first release outsniping some recons with some of the assault rifles. Wouldnt even attempt to take on someone further than 100 yards now with the assault rifles.

Im also looking forward to the improved classes in bf4, recon as it stands is as useful as an ash tray on a motorbike.:D

Hmm, perhaps I just didn't give it enough time then :p :(

Most definitely! Now with snipers in bf 3, you just have to run to cover and ignore them (unless you can be bothered making your way up to their bush where they camp :p :o), in BC 2, not much of a problem at all, especially with the shotguns and slugs......... :o You could use pretty much any gun in bc 2 (apart from some like the AEK, which were awful) and still do well no matter if you were against someone using something like the M416 etc.

I really miss the simplicity of bc 2 :(

Lets hope BF 4 actually delivers this time :D Getting back into BF 3 at the minute but still can't help but feel that it had so much more potential :( Hopefully they have sorted out the unlocks, slots etc. big time too.

You unistalled it  heretic!!
Not on purpose mate lol. Unfortunately it along with bf3 were the only games i had installed on a 120gb ssd, that drive died on me. Thankfully i have bfbc2 on disk so reinstalling isnt too much of a pain. Big downloads are a no no on my connection, took 8 hours to download crysis 3 yesterday.:o

it will only take 4 hrs setter then :D

i actually do sit puzzled when people play bf3 when there are many who still play bfbc2 its such a better game and balanced correctly.

My optical drive aint that bad. :D Also have the patches backed up on an external drive.

I still play bf3 a bit but tend to avoid the aircraft heavy maps, the devastation they wreak is way too much and theres no countermeasures. Well unless you get lucky with a tanks main gun. Bc2 has far better balance as infantry stand a good chance of being able to take out any vehicle on land or air with a multitude of weapons. On bf3 ive seen myself pump 4 rpg rounds into a humvee only for it to motor on.
