AFAIK,Titan is using 38,400 Opteron 6200 series 16 core CPUs. 76,800 is a lot of Bulldozer dies!!

so let me get this right
if you buy buldozer
you get crap performance
you dont get as good overclock
when you do overclock it costs you more every day because of the silly power usage
is there any benefits on buying a bulldozer chip and running it for a year?

You know what im sure AMD will learn from this and just move way ahead and concentrate now on there next cpu... and gpu, they gotta work there way back up after this hit.

I really hope so... Though to be fair, their GPUs are very good already. Hopefully that will prop them up long enough for another attempt in CPU space - maybe this time solving a problem that exists (i.e. the need for good lightly threaded performance) rather than a problem they hope will exist soon(TM).
I can't help wondering if someone at AMD isn't sitting there thinking "But multi threading is the way of the future! The way of the future! The way of the future!" ...

Have to agree with most people very sad for AMD cannot see them recovering from this situation. Still have a socket 939, 3800x2 in a dfi lanparty expert clocked at 2.5 with 2gig muskin redline ddr 500 those were the good old days. Went with intel in the end, the speed differences were to big to ignore won't be changing my 930 for a while let's hope there 7000 series gpu's can save them.
