Genuinely angry about this debacle.... :mad:

The only winners today are Intel, everyone else will lose, prices will go up, and the move to 6 core mainsteam Intel CPU's has probably just been put back 18mths.

Something tells me that after the inevitable sackings and the dust settles, some real horror stories about this CPU's development will emerge.

I don't know ... Everyone seems to get power consumption figures wrong. I had a hell of a time researching mini-itx consumption and found such a wide variance of results :/

It's probably down to mixing old results with different PSUs and lack of normalization.

I'm sure we'll see more accurate results or care taken when there's more demand/interest for consumption stats

Big shame, I did wait for this, but ill just keep my x6 at 4ghz for now, it gives good performance in photoshop, intel ivy bridge for me !

Well having moved from socket 939 & an FX60 to P5E & Q6600 a few yrs ago I was planning an upgrade back to FX land. No longer, i5 or i7 it is....

Techspot have the 4170,6100,8120,8150 results.

4170 is slower than the Phenom II Quads in just about everything... :eek:

I just can't see why anyone would every buy one over an X6 (if they were intent on staying with AMD), or a 2500K.

£200 for a far worse performing CPU... madness.
