dave ranked doesnt matter dedis have everything unlocked ;)

so unless the admin has took off something you can start game join dedi and have everything straight off the bat :cool:

how is this not good and the potential for it is awesome no rank advantage , at a click you can have everyone use a certain weapon so say snipers only , or not use all noob weapons like tubes and silly perks it really it basically a good idea.

also in mw2 you could rank up in a few days anyway so you have every option . its better not worse. no need for mods for comp side just go ak47 small smg 1 nade smoke 13 rounds start :cool: very well thought out tbh
 
ooo, how old is this topic now, and i havent had a look.
but ooo, Ravensoft... I very much like the work of ravensoft. Very much looking forward to their handy work in the game :D

Yeah they are developing the multiplayer side of things, sledghammer handling the sp content.

I wonder how Jason West and Vince Zampella are getting on? Jason and Vince gave Activision one of the most successful entertainment product ever offered to the public. Activision are greedy so and so's though eh" :D
 
Right then, the lack of pages in this thread does not represent the world and sales performance of cod mw3.

Reason being if you go onto the street of the UK and ask about battlefield 3 and what do you think of it, I bet you 9 times out of time most people will not know what battlefield is.
Ask the same question about call of duty and you will get a better response, every man and his dog knows what call of duty is, can you say the same for battlefield?
 
Just to check again (didn't get answer last time), does this allow custom dedicated servers e.g. like cod4? Or just the dedicated servers from gameservers.com or whatever.

heres the official bit

choosing to play on a Dedicated Server is UnRanked. Meaning unlocks are completely controlled by the Server Admin. They can choose to unlock everything or limit class restrictions to whatever they like to fully customize the experience. You do not have to rank up in Public games to have access to weapons in Dedicated Servers, you have complete control over what is unlocked for you in a Unranked Dedicated Server.

so all the cry zords are totally wrong on it and dedis for clans and so on its great news ! cant wait if its like cod 4 hit reg with 16 new maps and dedis this will be big no matter how hard bf3 fan boys troll ;)

I've always just wanted to play and not have to unlock things.

i doubt it, everyone and their dog will jump on board on release , bf will be classed as old news by then.

these forums do not represent the greater population in anyway, most of us are uptight nobodies who get in a fit over a colour palette swap - we in no way shape or form speak for the other 99% of the general public.

Nobody knows for sure yet Sundance. Bowling has tip-toed around this question when asked directly. "Just like COD4" doesn't mean that I can go to any GSP and rent a 32-slot server and in any case, it has been confirmed that only Ground War mode is 18 players.

It has been suggested by some that an unranked dedicated server is actually just any single person hosting a game for another 17 players to join and I tend to believe this. At best, we will see another monopoly probably given to GameServers but one thing we probably won't see is any public release of server files as that could potentially jeopardise DLC purchases in the sense that the community could have custom maps available for free download.

OK thanks for this. Very interesting, but potentially sad news for me :( I only asked becuase I just read that even BF3 with all its hype does not allow for custom servers. Which is fine for public play, but for lasting competitive play with mods etc, it just won't cut it. Ah well!..

I basically just want a new iteration of Cod4 with Steamworks integration :p
 
BF3 is too war-like for many, huge areas, and so on. COD has gone to **** for PC users. I think this is why Valve think a new CS game has a chance to capitalize now. Fingers crossed they can do it, as these news shooters have never captured that feeling of being in a good clan on CS:S, not even close (for me).
 
honestly got bf3 tried it out was fun but the amount of camping in that game is just not to my taste everyone is camping in 1 spot or another waiting while rockets are going off right left and center.

my play style is to keep moving around the map and getting the frags i really cant be asked waiting there for someone to pop out to slow..

but in the end i came out knowing i hate big open world maps! & tanks :P

I loved BF2 but BF3 just feels like a big kick in the teeth, the amount of nade spamming, rpg spamming and prone machine gun firing spam is crazy and puts even puts the worst moments in COD to shame....

i didnt realise you got cod4 for free on steam when preordering, might have to look at that.
