**Official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Thread**

wasn't SOf2 slammed into the ground for being a truly appalling game on release?

But yeah I'm sure cod 8 will be different than the last 4.

Can't bring myself to break my principles and pre-order this. I really hope people use their brains and refuse to preo-order or buy until we KNOW its worthy of £30-40.

I know people are slamming the whole FPS pay-to-play thing but CoD games are always among the most expensive and released about every blooming year so a subscription might work out about the same price but ensure the game is better supported with far more depth.

Just like past releases, I know I'll try it, then go straiht back to CoD4.

normally what I do too... Would be nice for a cod4 facelift and just to include few new features. Nothing drastic but just because cod4 does eventually become tedious and needs a refresh

cod 4 just needs 5 solid maps designing and a cheat protection program that actually catches the cheats !!

theyd make millions off that but why ? it would effect there new games sales so it wouldnt be done which is a shame.

modding straight from the off would make a big deal but ea and activision dont want to give you choices .

The gameplay in COD 4 was perfect, it wasn't too fast paced and involved tactical thinking, but not too much that it gets frustrating and tedious.

World at war was also great, basically the same as COD 4 but with a world war 2 theme and zombies,

Modern Warfare 2 is by far the worst of them, the only thing I loved about it was playing special ops, the multiplayer was very weak and too chaotic for my liking. Black Ops was also similiar to this but slightly better and had the great zombie multiplayer addition which I love!

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is my favourite FPS game of all time. If they combine the greatness of COD 4's multiplayer gameplay with new maps (including zombies), weapons, features, gadgets and game types then Modern Warfare 3 will be a big hit in my opinion and I'll buy it, let's just hope that actually happens!

I don't believe Ravensoft will be given a lot of control but I would like to think they could do well.

But the publishers will ask them to stick to the same formula for sales, so I heavily doubt it.

I like COD series (finished all).
COD2, WAW, MW1 were great- now playing only MW2 online.

Looking forward to this, especially something new in multiplayer.

Yeah I think you're right. They have something that works (in terms of sales) I doubt they'll give Ravensoft free reign and instead they'll be on a tight leash.

COD4 / WAW were great games, really enjoyed them.

MW2 ..... honestly words can't describe at how I feel. Just a two fingered salute to the PC (the platform that made their games popular)

Black Ops, didn't even bother to look at the reviews due to MW2.... I'll see how long I hold a grudge :)

Ravensoft did have a hand in Quake 4 however, which was pretty meh in honesty.

I expect another re-branded rpevious installment of COD4 just like the last 3 games. WIll still buy it, complete the SP and have a bash at the MP but the COD franchise is very cookie cutter at the moment.

It's loved by a lot of consumers so to change the existing formula would be business suicide but they could actually support the game very well and make it as bugless as possible which I would like to see from them.

I don't mind the game as a whole but support for the games is not that great and they're on an 12-month cycle right now so I wouldn't want to pick up the latest and greatest knowing it will be replaced in 12 months. Maybe I'm just too long-sighted in regards to that though and people will still lap it up. ^_^

How did you keep a straight face while typing that?

...oh wait... you were serious weren't you? Wake up and smell the cash cow. Activision won't do anything to CoD that isn't in the interest of profit and spending money on development that could be spent on marketing isn't in that interest.

And for those still desperate to believe CoD 87 will be anything but a rehash of the previous ones.

Sledgehammer Games was founded on November 17, 2009 by Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey,[31] who left Electronic Arts subsidiary, Visceral Games.[32][33][34]

So the MP is being done by a company who are only remembered for Soldier of Fortune II, a game (going by this thread) broken on release, who will have no chance to flex any creative muscle anyway. And the SP is being done by another company set up not even 2 years ago who don't seem to have done anything yet.

Six months until release and no information in the OP. This thread really ******Officially******* needed?

Doesn't mean that people within the thread can't bring information and rumors and add to this "Official" thread. When official information is released there is somewhere to talk about it. 6 Months for an official thread isn't actually that long. So please either add something useful or don't comment.
