****Official Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 thread****

Just a heads up to anyone who has been having connection issues with MW3 MP, I had a 'moderate' NAT, it would struggle to find games with a low ping, often would connect to a game, load map then time out.

SO anyway after a few hours or changing things I simply disabled upnp on my router (had previously tried manual port forwarding amongst other things). Disabling it left my NAT status as 'open' and now connects to lower ping matches and the time outs are now pretty much non-existant. Strange as I was under the impression the whole point of UPNP was to auto-configure thing such as NAT?

Anyhow TL;DR If your having connection problems or timeouts try disabling UPNP.

I had the exact opposite experience.

I had already disabled UPnP on my router to play the BF3 beta and never changed it back. With it disabled MW3 said my NAT was moderate, with it enabled again it says its open.

Played multiplayer on dedicated servers, am i right in saying you only have those kits available to you, and you can't rank up or acquire new equipment?

Go into Private Match > Create Class and create your classes there. Then exit out back to Servers and when you join, you'll have the option of choosing the classes you've just created.

So whats your favourite loadout so far? I'm usin' and abusin' Overkill Pro, ACR w/ ACOG and PP90M1, with Slight and Steady.. Seems a little scrubbish and OP, went 54-34 on a game of domination on Mission yesterday.

The only map which I consistantly fail to perform on is Seatown, it's just too tight, and you constantly have to be looking up at the windows for people, and then someone which pops around the corner and guns me down.

Modern Warfare 3 dev attempts to boost Metacritic score via Twitter

As reported on IGN, Studio head of Sledgehammer Games, Glen Schofield isn’t happy with the way Modern Warfare 3 is getting treated on Metacritic.

It’s currently got a metacritic of 82. That’s a reasonable average, sitting just above Modern Warfare 3 review score.

Glen was more upset by the user rating (formed by the public, not critics). At the time it was sitting at a rather sad 1.7. Metacritic’s users were making a statement. Not necessarily a truthful statement, but a statement nonetheless.

Schofield wasn’t happy about this, so he hit his twitter feed and posted: “I don’t usually do this but, if u like MW3 go 2 Metacritic.com & help our user score. It’s suspiciously low. Be honest but help if u agree.”

He’s since deleted the tweet. Probably because it got him into trouble. Later on, after some negative feedback and accusations unfair boosting, he attempted to justify his original comments by posting that he “know it’s better than a 1.7.”

It seems the users agree; Modern Warfare 3′s user rating currently stands at 1.8.
