Out of interest, does anyone know what Man Utd's starting 11 cost compared to Villa's?![]()
So you can complain about the money United have spent?

Find another excuse.

I just find it wierd that a last man tackle error receives 2 punishments (sent off and 1 goal down) A penaty itself is a huge advantage. In todays example Agbanlahor still had lots to do if he was going to score. A penaty allows him to take a shot free without Vinic interfering and no difficult angle.
£73.55m starting for Villa and £79.37m (plus whatever Rafael cost) for Man Utd. Not that huge of a difference, considering theres a £30m player in there. The figures might not be exact, just did it quickly from Wiki.
Ok for one, a penalty is not a guaranteed goal, you have to score it. It's an advantage, and a very good chance to score, but they are missed sometimes. Vidic was yanking on his shirt for ages, he dragged the ball left to try and get a shot away and was then fouled. It's a card, be it yellow or red, and neither was produced. Vidic was later booked, which would be a sending off anyway, but of course that tackle may not have happened had he not been booked for the penalty.
So Cuellar didn't deserve to be sent off then? Not sure what Villa fans are harping on about, both teams were lucky not to get a man sent off!
The Vidic was an obvious red, the Cuellar was a yellow, after all, it was only mis-timed, not malicious. lol.
Of course by all means forget that Vidic commited enough bookable fouls to be sent off either way you look at it - its only because of that particular ref that he didnt - Id be interested to hear from people who think he deserved to remain on the pitch for the whole match...
Fair play to Man U - Rooney was the quality needed to decide the tie and they had far more clearcut chances on goal. Just think that Vidic decision ultimately led to that win. We didnt help ourselves in the 2nd half, but think without Vidic we would have had far more chances - Villas mentality just has been shocking lately and we let our heads drop far too easily...
EDIT: re DMs post - you wont find me defending Heskey, still dont understand why he starts ahead of Carew and as far I was concerned was only brought in when Carew was injured to give us another holding player. I know Carew cant play a full game week in, week out - but I dare say hed have more impact on the pitch to allow himself to be subbed rather than coming on as he does at the moment. Why Heskey still gets touted for England escapes me, perhaps I dont see his workrate on the TV, but that cant happen every game I see him play. MONs needs to get a decent long-term Carew solution - Heskey was never it...

I love it when the 'how much did your players cost' argument comes out. Pathetic isn't the word. It's funny how it didn't come out when you beat us earlier in the season.
Why do people compare prices paid as some kind of amazing barometer about how good/bad a team has done for the money spent.
Money spent on players has nothing to do with value of the players, you get player who ride out a contact because old club can't afford a new one(Owen), players who cost a lot(Berbs), youth players for next to nothing(Rafael, Fletcher,NEville, Evans) Giggs, Scholes, not sure if the last two were on the bench or not), Park who came from a far away land for not much cash, good value buys like VDS, Rooney when there wasn't anyone else around with the money to buy them. If VDS was 5 years younger and was bought when Chelsea/Liverpool had money and needed keepers, he'd have cost 3 times as much. You can't just not buy players you need because timing is bad.
Has he being back since the cost of each team was linked?![]()
