**OFFICIAL** Carling Cup Final Thread - Aston Villa Vs. Man Utd - 28/2/10 - Wembley

Park is like Eboue, a good utility player, jack of all trades. They're extremely useful to have in your squad. I don't think it's fair at all to blame him for United's lack of creativity this year, it's not his fault, the whole team don't look particularly confident in attack (obviously discounting Rooney ..) and Park isn't too bad imo

Some people obviously have their opinion and wont stray from it at all, obviously it would be great to have a Valencia on both wings (someone who tracks back and is creative going forward) but fact is while Giggs is injured Park is the best we've got

What gets me is that these same people who claim Park's not good enough despite Fergie picking him time and time again would prefer the likes of unproven players like Obertan and Tosic

Everyone thinks they know more than the man that has brought all the success to United

I like Park.

He was really good the year United won in Europe, people seem to forget how good he was in that run of games.

The problem is Park does nothing against teams who are worse than us. He's great at neutralising opposition threats, usually a roaming wing back.

That's because in an attacking sense he's not that good :p

His strengths are his running off the ball, his positioning and his work rate, with the size of the Wembley pitch his involvement could be key to us winning

Why don't you stick your rolleyes someplace. Someone has a different opinion from you and the rolleyes come out. We all have differing opinions on players and team selections. You've never questioned Ferguson on players he's chosen in the past then?

How on earth are the likes of Obertan and Tosic to become proven players when they don't play? I suppose they suddenly wake up one morning, hey I'm proven. Now Ferguson will play me... (I personally couldn't give a flying ho ha about Tosic, it's Obertan who has offered us something good on the left when he has had time playing).

Yeah he was fantastic against Barcelona, nearly 2 years ago. Was dropped from the squad against Chelsea in the final because he was lightweight and would stand absolutely no chance against their midfield. Then after we won, it turned into the latest 'biggest regret' Ferguson has had with regards to cup final team selections, he's said the same about players in the past, 'his biggest regret'...

He then plays against Barcelona the following CL final and is woeful along with most of the team. And since then has offered us sweet f.a. when he's played.

We've got Fletcher who can perform better against any opposition.

So in short all his strengths involve him not having a ball at his feet? :p

Giggs is out, so putting a player who 'in an attacking sense he's not that good' is our best option on the left? Thank christ we have Evra who does everything on the left by himself.

There's a difference between having a different opinion on who should play on the odd occasion to constantly questioning it like you know better than the manager (that's not aimed solely at you btw). For anyone to even insinuate players like Obertan should start in a cup final ahead of someone a lot more proven and experienced (Park) is a joke

They do it the same way every other player does it they impress in training and in the games they are given they take their chance, the fact that Obertan didn't impress in his last start and hasn't been making the bench at least for ages (other than very recently) says he cant be doing that much in training either

Debatable

Annoying that the tv station showing the game where I am would require me to get up and be in the pub by 8am to watch...grrr :/
