Got very into Silence of the Lambs by the end, and am certainly going to read the others in the series now. Catcher in the Rye for the second time is my next book, looking forward to revisiting it :)

I have just finished re-reading the His Dark Materials Trilogy by Phillip Pullman.

They really are a cracking set of books and they get better as the series goes on.

whether you want to read too much into the religious themes or not they are definitely worth a read, also the first book is much better than the movie, so dont let that discourage you.

Next on my list is The Corsican by William Heffernan

Just finished kiss cut by karin slaughter, was pretty good. May look into reading more of her stuff.

The Towers of Midnight, Robert Jordan/Brandon Sanderson.

The Grand Design, Stephen Hawking/Leonard Mlodinow.

The Religion of the Samurai A Study of Zen Philosophy and Discipline in China and Japan, Kaiten Nukariya

Reading Cochrane The Dauntless - The Life and Adventures of Thomas Cochrane by David Cordingly

If you have read Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey/Maturin books then Thomas Cochrane is the man much of his work is based on.

I read Generation A by Douglas Coupland before this and I have 1984 to read next.

I was reading 'My Trade: A Short History of British Journalism' by Andrew Marr but gave up on it a third of the way through. It's just boring and rather dull. I like the man, and his style but he just doesn't make a good author. It is a very dull book. It's not a historical account of journalism. It is all over the place and just doesn't seem to know what it is. One paragraph will be a semi-interesting (though, very boringly written) part about Victorian journalism but the next paragraph will be him prattling on about a questionably relevant anecdote about a sub-editor of the Scotsman.
A shame really, as I expected so much more from him.

Glue by Irvine Welsh.

Don't know why, but am struggling with it. Keep picking it up, laughing my head off and putting it back down without picking it up again. Pity as I really like it.

Generation Kill by Evan Wright. Only a few chapters in but seems just as good as the tv series based on it, only with a little more detail.

In recent months I've read:

Millennium Trilogy by Stieg Larsson
Digital Fortress and Deception Point by Dan Brown
Alex Cross' Trial by James Patterson

Reading, I am Legend, great so far.

Just finished World in Winter, enjoyed that too.

Before that, Lee Child, Die Trying, hated it, unbelieveable nonsense.

It by Stephen King, the Girl Who Played with Fire by Stieg Larsson and A Journey by Tony Blair and I'm enjoying all of them immensely.

That list is omitting all of the reading I'm doing for my degree.

American Psycho.

Reading about a bunch of shallow, worthless yuppies spending an evening in a restaurant has never been so entertaining. I await the blood and stuff with relish.

Previous book - The First Heretic. The series just gets better.

The Corsican by William Heffernan

For me this is absolutely the best "Gangster" type book out there, this is the fourth time i have read it, and it just keeps getting better.

For anyone who likes a book about revenge and retribution then i would definitely recommend it.

Been on a massive reading binge the past month. Oodles of free time at work and I've been burning through the pages like nothing.

Millennium Trilogy (hard graft getting through the last book)
The Help - Kathryn Stockett (Didn't like the writing style but story was endearing)
The Confession - John Grisham (a return to form for him)
Long Walk to Freedom - Nelson Mandela (awesome awesome book)
Congo - Michael Crichton (was taking some books to charity shop and stumbled upon this classic. Reread it for fun)

Currently I'm reading The Snowman by Jo Nesbo. I'm about 90% through the book and still begrudge myself starting it. I didn't heed the warning signs in the first few chapters and ploughed on. The translation isn't very good and I couldn't care less about the characters. Few nice twists and turns, but ultimately I just want it done so I can move on to another book.

Have 'Lustrum' and 'The Reversal' waiting for me.

I've also just bought Full Dark, No Stars by Stephen King. Somehow that book slipped through my radar. On it's way to the Kindle!

Just finished the Star Trek Destiny trilogy of books on kindle... Loved it, bit of a trekky, and its a story about the beginning and the end of the Borg.

Now i'm torn between Timeline by Michael Crichton (loved the film) and The Last Templar. Got a 6 hour flight and a week in Egypt soon, so should be able to burn through them :)
