***Official DC Universe Online Thread***

Aslong as the KB & Mouse works with the combo system i'll be happy!

What are your thoughts on the game so far?

You seem to be running through the instances with ease!

If you look on my YouTube channel (search CK61938) you will find various videos on the game. A couple where I've spoken highly of it :) including the news of the latest content update.

Ok about to log off now, but here's my healer with a new set of wings. The tier 2 wings to be precise:

Think ya play to much :)

Loving it so far. I've got a couple of alts going now, and I'll probably roll a few more to get a taste of all of the early Mentor specific missions.

My primary (which was actually my first alt) is only level 11, so still got a good ways to go. Hope the rest of it is this much fun.

I hope those of you who have reached 30 in this game are doing your Challenge Modes. Remember it's not about just jumping in and attacking the enemies. It's all about how to take them down one by one. Unless of course, you'er a bonafide tank like yours truly, you can pretty much take on 6 level 30 NPCs at once. As I keep saying Winter Ward and Reflection F.T.W. :D

And complete the Toyman missions daily, cos they are fun (apart from the race type one where you have to carry a power core, that can get frustrating lol) and I think you get a feat for completing 10 of them, or maybe it's all 10 of your challenge modes. Either way, get them done, collect the Marks Of Alliegiance, use those to buy weapons or 10 of those marks will get you 1 mark of triumph. So think about it, you do 10 of these a day, that's 2 marks of alliegance each for the challenge modes and 1 mark of alliegiance for the Toyman modes. That's 15 marks off the bat. Not bad I say.

Anyway, just thought I'd add that in there as I was out and about on my level 30 tank doing said challenge modes, I did the Supergirl one and the Felix Faust one. It's so much easier when you are well geared lol.

Tomorrow night, I will be leading a group from my league to do 8 man raids in both Outer Caverns and Khandaq. As always I will be doing a live broadcast so stay tuned for the link and hope to see you guys watching tomorrow :D

Liking the look / idea of this very much. Don't suppose there is a free trial or anything for it? (Can't look that much at the moment as I'm in work)

No free trial as yet. I do hope they will implement this later on, cos it would make a lot of sense for people to try it out for like 2 weeks or something before deciding whether or not it is the MMO for them.

This is why I do live streaming via Xfire. So people can see it and see how things are done, what the world looks like and such.

So who knows. Finger's crossed.

Just picked this up last night and now I'm fully patched.

Couple of questions:

What server would you recommend for starting out on (I'm open to either EU or US)?

Having looked at the different roles, Controller or Healer looks most appealing to me so far. Is there a massive need for crowd control or would a controllers main job be to act as a power battery for other heroes?

Ta.

I highly recommend US servers. I am on there on the Zero Hour :) Love it

Regarding controllers, your job is pretty much to act as a power battery for other heroes in your group during duos, alerts and raids. But be careful when taking aggro. Your tank needs to make sure they pull aggro off you otherwise too many enemies on you and you cannot power everyone and then we're in trouble lol. But everyone has their role and each one is important to the other :)

I have a level 30 tank and a level 30 healer and currently my controller is level 20. I'm taking my time levelling him up tho.

If you are a tank, go for Ice...it's awesome :D

Roll on a US server if you:
- Want to play at non-peak times where the cities feel fairly empty and is harder to get groups for alerts
- Dont want to do raids
- You want to do raids at ~1am through till 3am
- Plan on doing most stuff solo unless youre prepared to stay up very late

You may find an EU league on there but its a bit easier to find one on the EU servers... shocker.

For server types, PvE and PvP are the choices. You WILL die on the pvp servers, and you will die a lot but you'll also learn a lot from it and have a good laugh once you get your head around it. If you prefer to just watch (and perhaps shout some bad words asking them to stop) when villains are doing evil deeds and heroes are trying to be all heroic then go PvE.

TL;DR EU PvP are the fun servers with decent peak play-time populations.
