Yes, it's up and working, but not mapped anything to that one yet. You do get 3 4 way hat tops in the box, so you can change 2 of the 2 way hats and the (I think) thumb button into a hat.
Yea I meant the 3 hats on the face of the joystick, the analogue stick might work find just never used one on joystick before.

Since when did ocuk sell virpil?!

Yeah same, not sure what it would work for at the moment.

I think they've sold it for a while, and the grip was about £35 or so cheaper than Virpil!

Love helicopters+ want a serious stick+Virpil =
FFB -any FFB, even the vintage MSFFB2 - is amazing in DCS, I would ignore all dead spring gimbal sticks in 2026. If you want a portable joystick, then get MSFFB2 or a (much bigger) Moza. If size is no issue, get the above or Rhino/FFBeast/WinWing FFB.

For now I went with the Thrustmaster Warthog and Thrustmaster rudder pedals. I wanted something decent to play with right now as the controller was driving me nuts. Only so much can bind and thumbsticks were just not good enough for helis.

I'm still going to go with Virpil as honestly, this game has me so hooked. At least with Virpil I can put an order in for the next month or two and can wait while the Warthog ties me over for now.

Now I want to get an IR tracker. In the future VR but now building up to full on.

My modules so far:

OH-58D, love it
UH-1H Huey, really love
Black Shark 3
Mi-24P Hind
AH-64D, really love

South Atlantic, my god it's 113.76 GB
Persian Gulf

A-10C
F-16C, love
F/A-18C
F-14, need to get the aircraft carrier.
F-4E

Where can I get the AV-8B? I read there was a fallout with Eagle Dynamics.

I also would like the AH-6J but it's also gone.

Though I'm on the Steam version, does that complicate things?

I believe the AH6 is a mod. Never tried it.

The Harrier, along with the Mig19, Mirage 2000 and F15E were all being developed by Razbam, a 3rd party vendor.
An argument kicked off about 18 months ago about potential issues with licensing and payments. We’ll probably never know the full story.
Either way, Razbam walked away and subsequently pulled them from sale. It’s a genuine shame as the Harrier and Mirage are great modules. The F15E was looking very promising, but was was early in its development.

On a positive note, we have had groups including Aergis join, and create with Mirage F1, which is one of my favourite modules.

Just found this, not tried it myself but it seems it's possible to change the ministick to a hat switch.

Nice that vpc software is great once you get the hang of it.

So how's the grip treating you ?
Liking it so far, being metal feels a bit of an upgrade from the Mongoos. Buttons are nice, everything's working...
Still thinking about pre ordering the new ffb base, but no rush.

So much time disappears when you get engrossed and immersed with the simulation. Good to hear you're enjoying it.
It's a very cool and deep simulation, that's for sure with the amount of systems being modelled in each airframe, and now we have so many airframes to choose from.

I haven't even explored radar and weapons yet. Just getting used to the flight mechanics first and then camera settings before going further. As well as dialling in settings as I adapt.

I might have to get a Virpil collective for the future. I'm reeeeeeally loving Heli's. Wings of the Apache.

I'm only a month into this. The Hind is a real floaty pig. Fun but my god it's a heavy brute. Huey is so fun. Predator. :D

Then to study start up procedures as well.

Taxi'ing is so fun in the Viper and Hornet.

My god it's so addictive!

If you're flying a lot of different stuff take a look at JoyPro...
Allows you to do common binds over different aircraft, plenty of videos on YT.

I agree, I've not found any other sim that's better for giving a sense of flying a helo.
Disclosure: That may be helped by the fact I've never been in a helo that's flying in real life

Probably for the best, bloody dangerous things and there's no respawn either. :D
