It would appear ED has the max speed of the Apache wrong? No? According to real AH-64 pilots their top speed is 140 knots or there about. Their cruise speeds are 120 they said.

I think the fastest I've hit was 130/132. I'll need to test again. Not free falling. Low fast speeds following rivers.

What do people who have it here max out on?

So I did some modifications to the cheap Thrustmaster pedals. TRFP set. Took out the spring. Put on thick grease on the runners. Cut some copper pipes. Tie wrapped pipes to pedals for extension and some bungee cord.

I need to find something to fix the base to eventually.

Does anyone own the Moza AB6 and would you recommend it?
I have the ab9 and it's great. The ab6 is the smaller less powerful less smooth version. If your coming from a gimbal type stick the Force feedback will be a game changer. It's especially good for helicopters as a dead stick.

So was going over my settings last night. Many hours on it. For ages couldn't work out why it was either sluggish or twitchy. There was no precise balance from centre to middle before full throw.

I remember reading somewhere on Youtube from real heli pilots that it's sensitive but not twitchy. So had to look into my sensitivities and head tracking.

Tracking is supposed to be smooth but quick so it doesn't throw off your awareness.

Then took off the bungees on the Thrustmaster TFRP pedals. Put on copper pipes to act as a bar to the pedals for extension. Put on thick Castrol grease for the runners to dampen the sliding mechanism and put a small bungee on the outer mechanism. Tiny tiny resistance but wont pull to centre.

Once it was smooth and flowing Adjusted the deadzones through the pedals calibration software. Think I had 8% in the middle and 2% at the end of the throw.

Took deadzone out of the rudder curves but put about 35% for sensitivity. Now have smooth micro adjustments.

Couldn't work out why the stick always felt off. Castrol grease on the ball for the stick. Put the curves to 0. Saturation back up. Pitch 100%, Roll about 92% after looking in the slider graphs watching the micro adjustments. I needed deadzone. Bar were 0 as there were no drift. According to real heli pilots there is a degree of deadzone in the centre but not a lot.

So put on 8%. Pitch lights up without Roll and vice versa. No longer twitchy movements.

Still dialling in the curves for the headtracking...

Did you find setting up the profiles a pain? What setting do need set in DCS for it to work correctly?

Thanks ☺️
Not really, it's a bit time consuming if you are making lots of adjustments to them but the Moza software auto selects and loads profiles if you want it to and there are quite a few already available for DCS, you can also use the AB9 profiles if an AB6 one doesn't exist and tweak it to your liking. I've been very lazy with it and setup a default profile I tend to use with everything I fly. I don't recall having to set anything in DCS for it to work, if these was something it was simple, I mainly fly MSFS these days though so I don't have a huge amount of experience with DCS.

Thanks I can’t wait to get one now
I very close getting the aeromax but that like 4 month wait according to their customer service.
So I would go VKB if I had not seen the AB6 package which I think pretty for everything included in the box.

Interesting experience landing the Little Bird on the Burj Al Arab. It got me curious flying about that area.

I love how areas like that feels like a pin hole miles away then feels like a football field up close.

I had no idea that once your HOTAS is setup perfectly that you can then hover perfectly like George in the Apache. Without jumping to the gunner seat.

Only thing I don't like about it is that it feels weird. Like someone holding a toy helicopter in the air while the rotaries spin.

Had to take trim off the rear rotor. Don't like trim on it.

I find now when the pedals are perfectly smooth, you then hardly touch the cyclic. My pedals are smooth even micro adjustments now. Only thing I'm finding is I might need a dampener. Need to upgrade another time but my god the Apache and Little Bird is so smooth that they glide.

0 curves but I think I have 4% on the pedals for the Apache. I need to try minus as there is something just a little off with the rear rotor I'm investigating.

Gazelle so pretty and so much fun to fly. They're all fun except the Hind. Hind I find too floaty. Can't be aggressive.
