Completed thanks to the help of Cameron for the final few chapters.

Pretty good all in all, yes there are some issues... but nothing that stopped me completing the game and having fun. The ending a bit iffy, but at the same time its all open for another game and if the developers get that shot (especially if they can patch this and produce solid DLC) then it could well be a decent series to build on.
 
Anyone know how to get vsync working in this ? I added VSync() to the video.scr etc and re ticked read only etc but in game still reports over 60 fps in fraps
 
Tried it and it doesn't work don't need that as I know how to edit all the files have already done the FOV change etc and that works fine it's just vsync edit not doing anything thanks though.Are we sure it's just add VSync () it's not VSync(1) or anything ?
 
Just wondering, in this game do you any shooting or do you just whack zombies with stuff?

I havent seen a gun in any of the videos ive watched just people thwacking zombies with stop signs and stuff.

While this sounds fun, I think it would bore me quite quickly.
 
I did that on cats but fraps still reports over 60 fps can you guys check yours with fraps I bet vsync isn't working for you either and you'll see well over 60 fps
 
Mine stays at 60fps solid via the DI helper. Which file is it that gets modified, as I could post up the script for you to copy if that would help.

Also might be an option to force the vsync via radeonpro?

Edit: strange, if I alt+tab out and then back in it kills my vsync and shoots upto 150fps.
 
Was playing this will the 360 pad "analog" control scheme earlier today, would recommend it to anyone makes the game bit slower when killing zombies, but more accurate with your attacks great fun once you get used to it.

But its not continuous world there are different sections Island/Hotel, City & jungle (maybe one more)

Great. I just downloaded this game and now i find out i can't play it in offline mode. I dont have an internet connection other than through my phone and that doesn't allow steam.

This is the first i've heard about this, if i had known i wouldn't have bought it.
 
Indeed Game cant be played in offline mode :(

Because of the Steam "Cloud" architecture it’s actually only possible to play Dead Island if the Steam Client is online and connected to the Steam network.Our developers are working on a solution in order to make the "Offline Mode"available for you. We're hoping for your understanding that we can’t make anypromises at the actual moment.

Best bit is they say they can't make any promises at the moment. Unless the game was marketed as requiring a permanent internet connection to pay they better sort it out. I would just request a refund(for false advertising) but i've already spent £4 and wasted 2 hours of my time downloading it.
