*****Official Deus Ex 3: Human Revolution discussion thread*****

Well, I've really enjoyed the game. I thought that it captured the essence of the original very well, and the quality of the storytelling was better than I've seen in a game for quite a while. That being said, it didn't quite have the depth and complexity of the story in the first game. Also, a distinct lack of random bits of philosophical pseudo-science that I quite enjoyed from the first game. Like this little chat with Morpheus [slight spoilers for DX1 maybe...]

Although the story can't quite compare with the original, I thought that the combat model and cover system worked quite well - it seemed to fit in well with the pace of the game. I thought that the stealth system worked as well, although I really did suck at stealth and silent takedowns for about half the game. Also I found the "conversation battle" sections quite interesting, and I was impressed by how well they managed to convey the reactions of your opponent.

On my second playthrough now. I'm going for a zero-casualties / zero alarms... Guess I'd better improve my stealth skills!

Just finished it, rather disappointed with the ending tbh was expecting an epic final encounter but was easier than any of the others tbh. Infact the whole final level was lame.

That was originally going to tie in with the moonbase section of the original game that sadly got cut (it was similiar in style to the underwater facility but about twice the size).

I agree. Throughout the game I tried to make sure I was stealthy as possible but I just couldn't be bothered with the final level. I didn't like it at all. Ended up rushing through it to get it over with.

So some god damn hoe locked herself in a panic room, I take out her little bitches that fill the room and go down an elevator, but now I have 2 big ass robots to take out?! How do I kill these bad boys?

I've been playing this since Saturday, talking to every person I find, hacking everything I can, doing all the side missions etc and loving this game! Wish I had known about earlier titles now.

Just completed it - got the achievement for no alarms! :) not for no kills though?? Seems the Tranq gun can sometimes kill people... which I only just discovered... so lame!

Not watched all the endings yet - but took 32hours - all side quests done (turns out I did have a save to do the one I missed in Heng Sha, so back tracked and did that!)

yeah, it took my 35 hours to finish the game.

one of the best games i have played. Seriously, the music, level design, arts pure classic.

I had been going for the no kills but can't be bothered now, i think i'll save that for another playthrough(tbh i'm always going to play it as a stealth character.) plus i have almost fully upgraded the pistol so it would be a shame to waste it.

I now have the aug to jump higher and punch through walls and i have already noticed loads of different ways to do things.

I'm still on no kills (I hope), I guess 2/3rds of the way through the game (just got back to Detroit). Gonna zerg rush it on hard next to get other achievements. I have almost all augs on this run through from being thorough and hacking and searching everything.
