*****Official Deus Ex 3: Human Revolution discussion thread*****

Too short?! 20-30 hours with full exploration is too short? Only so long you can pan out a story like that for :p

I'm on 26 hours for my second play through, and still only back in Detroit after leaving Montreal. Been exploring a lot :)

Original DX took me a full week to complete and that was some good long gaming sessions - 10+ hours some days :S Human Revolution took me 4 days of casual gaming and thats long by current game standards.

I think you both missed the point of what I was saying, re-read what I said lol...I just hate how all games these days have xp, on consoles, PC, everything, EVERY GENRE!!! LOL

cars games and first person shoot em ups!? what?

I cant be the only person on the planet that finds this daft and annoying!

You came into a thread complaining that one of the most famous RPG series has RPG elements and didn't expect that to go down like a sack of bricks and kittens in a canal? :/

Horrible controls are making the first boss fight impossible for me on hardest difficulty. Why do I have to untoggle everything before I can sprint away from his grenade spam?

Original probably took me about 20 hours on first playthrough and i'm already approaching that in this game just after the 2nd boss. I also played through the original last week and doing everything took around 24 hours

I know a lot of people who'd disagree with this statement! The longer the game the more substance the story has to it and thats what most games are lacking nowadays some do have good storys like Human revolution but they end so abruptly it saddens me!

I know what you mean, but i've played a few games recently where a i thought they were too long, I actually thought Portal 2 dragged on a bit really and that's not along game at all. I know it's all to do with gameplay getting repetitive, it's the same with Assassin's Creeed 2, i found it dragged and was far too long at around 30 hours, whereas Brotherhood felt too short and i took around 50 hours on that.

I'm not sure if the gameplay would get a bit repetitive if dragged on too long in this game, what do you think?

Quick question: Royal Fail has lost my pre-order so I'm considering popping down to the shops to buy it as Game want me to wait 15 working days for it to show up even though The chaps at Royal Mail claim I have no chance of seeing it again.

Were the pre-order bonuses worth it?

I agree with you so far as portal 2 is concerned as thats nothing more than a linear game which I've always found gets repetetive and boring. Assasins Creed not so much as I prefer the randomness you don't always have to approach things in the same manner but yet again I found them whay too short.

Doing everything in the original in 24 hours? Maybe doable... if you've played through it several times and already know EXACTLY where to go and what to do. I could probably rush through the game now because I know more or less where all enemies are and how to kill them quickly. But first time through? Not a chance.

I've been taking my time on this game. Partly down to making sure I hack every single terminal I see and find every 'Scholar' book. Hopefully I've not missed anything but I've got up to 25 hours and I'm probably approaching the 3rd boss soon (I just met up with Tong again). If I wasn't been excessively thorough this game could be completed much faster than you could complete the original.

If it only took you 24 hours you can't have done everything the main plot maybe but all the side q's and exploration highly I doubt it.

Well i did know where everything was already.

For example, in Maggie Chow's appartment i knew she was lying so didn't bother doing her quest and just went straight for the secret room with the sword
