Has steam put the game up for preloading yet?

Today will be the last day I will be able to download it as im leaving during the day tomorrow and I dont think I will have enough time if I leave it till then
 
The only great thing I can see for the Steam deal is the convenience of having it pre-loaded and the TF2 stuff, if you like the sort of thing. Me, I'm going to try and get the augmented edition, but haven't seen a good deal yet.

It's been available for pre-load since Thursday (evening I think).
 
Pre-ordered my copy this morning :D Also got the nice items for TF2 :p

I was tempted by the Augmented Edition, but I can pick up the soundtrack elsewhere. Is pretty epic though :)

If there had been some exclusive items, I might have gone for it. Just had a look on Amazon, and the only version that does have additional stuff is the Collector's Edition. But it isn't out yet for pre-order. I might look that up once the price falls a bit more.

For those that pre-order and get the game early, can they play it early or does it require activating?

Loved the original, not a massive game player anymore as they don't hold my attention, but thinking for nostalgia reasons I should buy this.

Yes it should be fine, played the leaked demo on a GTX280 ok, albeit without the DX11 features.

It's one of the best games of all time imo, great futuristic story with gameplay that allowed you to approach missions in starkly contrasting ways, from all out stealth without killing a soul to complete carnage, your style of play was largely dependent on how you levelled your character and which augmentations you favoured, due to this, the game had lots of replay value. It's Looking very much like HR will recapture a lot of the originals style after the disappointment of DX2.
 
I just had a shot of the Beta, dear lord it's tremendous.

A few iffy things but those can slide, nothing is perfect after all. (icon had the 'back' button from the xbox pad instead of keyboard but it's a leak so...)

Ever notice the best games get leaked early? :p

I don't think you need to know the story of Deus Ex to enjoy HR, it seems like a standalone story to me, but very similar theme. Having said that though, play the original anyway, there's still time before HR gets released and a few late nights will be worth it if it means enjoying one of the all time PC greats! Just get some good coffee in!
