Official die hard 5 Thread

Putting this in spoiler tags so as not to ruin for those unfortunate folk who still plan on going to watch it

WTF was the CIA plan regarding the trial? They got him up on a murder charge so he could be in the Courtroom at the same time, to do what? On the off chance that someone that wasn't related to the CIA and that they had no knowledge of whatsoever might break into the courtroom so he could escape?

Also, I bet the Russian authorities feel pretty stupid about leaving all that radioactive stuff lying around for a quarter of a century, when all they needed was some spray chemicals

Just got back from wasting my money I mean watching Die Hard 5.

It was just :(

Willis looked so old and tired, and I sure a lot of the scenes were shot without the other actors being there.

The story was dumb, and rubbish.

The whole film seemed so rushed. The worst of the franchise by a long long way. I'm a huge Die Hard 1 fan, and to see Die Hard as bad as this makes me :(

Watched this earlier today and was disappointed.

Aslo the one I watched had [English] subtitles. There was a lot of Russian dialogue but no subtitles for these (except one line when he was saying to his daughter he was coming). I didn't have a clue about what went on with the Russian dialogue bits and wasn't sure if you guys had something in your viewing?
Just curious as it seems a fair bit of useful info missing.

Anyhow, I found the film pants - the antagonist was just weak and there were no sub plots. From what I recall not even a hint of 'Yippee Ki Yay - m'f'.

I kinda assumed they knew about the planned escape, so that's why they did it, but I agree. The story was about as water tight as a sieve.
American films are becoming more and more stupid every day, and more and more people are saying you need to turn your brain off to enjoy a film.
If the requires of enjoyment these days are to mentally hit yourself over the head with a hammer till your a dribbling buffoon, then count me out.

Watched it last night, enjoyed it. Completely ridiculous, loads of great stunts, he fell about a thousand feet onto stuff that would break a million bones and lived, best one was right at the end where he appeared to have fell on concrete from how high!

Great Saturday night mindless fun :)

Think they both hit the water, he just got out. If I missed that and he didn't then that makes it even more ridiculous.

Saw it last night with a load of friends. I thought it was great, mind switched off entertaining action with enough plot to keep the story progressing. I wouldn't call it a die hard in the classic sense but then those films are well over 20 years old now.

There was a direct correlation between those among us that hated Les Miserables and loved this and vice versa though.

Perhaps a good day to retire hard and I could see the franchise continuing quite well with his son taking over.

/Meh, better than 4, but not even in in the same league as 1/2/3 :(

What I wanna know is:

How the hell did the CIA get a unmanned drone over Moscow (which has arguably the best air defenses of any city on the planet) lmao

Watched it last night. Woeful.

It is insulting to have this (and 4 for that matter) as part of the same series of films as 1st 3.

The difference in Willis' performance is there for all to see. He just doesn't care anymore.
