Official die hard 5 Thread

Just saw it and wasn't impressed. Some of the stunts and special effects are amazing but there's just nothing to the movie whatsoever really.

I also wasn't aware that the UK has a cut version to get a 12A.....which didn't help its cause - the over-dubbing of words and cutting away from potential violence is worse and more obvious than in the cut version of the 4th film.

I watched Die Hard two nights ago on Film4 and its still one of the best action movies ever. Its almost perfect in my eyes. Ive seen it countless times and its never aged or become stale.

However this new one looks absolute crap.

I don't get why Film4 seem to put the films on in the wrong order. Like: Die Hard 2 before Die Hard 1, or Aliens before Alien.

But back to topic, this film looks like it could be a fun watch but I have to admit I did notice the dodgy cgi in the trailer when they jumped through the window. The cgi there was reminiscent of the dodgy cgi in Indiana Jones 4 when Indy falls through some glass when fighting the russian baddie with the chain at the start of the film.:(

If anyone else sees it, please report back. I don't go to the flicks much but I have soft spot for the first films and if this is any good I might see it on the big screen.

The reviews aren't that impressive so far but it seems everyone with a blog or column is a cynic these days :p

tried to but the screen at the stevenage cineworld was out of focus. management couldn't even see the problem despite it looking like a DVD! walked out but will try again on Saturday in a different screen. that place makes my blood boil sometimes.

Don't bother, watched it last night.

Terrible film, this one actually makes 4 look good in comparison. I don't understand how film makers can balls up this badly.

Stupid story line, it was more like a really poor Bond movie. You really don't care about the bad guys or anyone in the film. The only funny scene was one short clip from a taxi driver.

I wasted money going to see this, don't do the same.

-For reference, I love 1,2,3

If the 4th looks good compared to this then LOL. This probably won't be something I'll go see. I'll try and catch it on blu-ray when its a fiver or something instead.:p

Shame really, as the first 3 are awesome.

At least in number 4 it had a story that 'could' have been turned into a good film, if you missed out some of the silly scenes.

This is just stupid.

If I say the word 'Chernobyl', it's not somewhere you'd expect McClain; the foul mouthed drunkard cop to end up.

I saw this Thursday, I was looking around the cinema, twiddling my thumbs, thinking if I wasn't on a date I might have considered going home. Shockingly bad.

My mate chose to go see this on Wednesday, I chose to see Django. I won.

Wasn't very excited by this in all honesty, very little could beat the original and 4 for me was a disappointment. They just don't make em like they used to.
