VG's strat was trashed even way before the finals. Both EG and C9 knew how to beat them they just couldn't get the 2 games under pressure. Newbee had already cracked it in the main event, I'm just not sure why VG didn't realise and picked the exact same heroes 3 times in a row!

Hey Tune bro! I haven't played with you in such a long time.

Add me on steam, KurisuViBritannia

Anyone who is 2k'ish MMR can add me also. I'm on most days to play.

If C9 knew how to beat them they wouldn't be banking on a very risky roshan at the start of the game, if you trust yourself to win straight up you don't do that unless you do something more imaginative than pick obvious heroes for it and just walk in and do it

Impressive to see Newbee's execution in the last two games, takes a lot of coordination to pull that off. On the flip side, disappointed they crushed so hard, wanted some hour long nail bitters to finish off the competition.

Oh well

VG could do with some nail biting matches... did anyone else see how long their nails were? Like a bunch of creepy witches. Is this a cultural thing?

It was risky but it was absolutely the right team and time to try it. VG thrived on small early advantages, with aegis on mid/offlane and support levels from rosh they wouldn't be able to get that early pressure. They "knew" the weaknesses of VG, I didn't say they executed it well ;)

I think game 2 of VG vs Cloud9 was the most fun game of the whole tournament.

Was a real shame the final wasn't like last year, but that's not Valves fault. Hopefully next year it's more competitive (the final) and it goes to a 5th.

All the Western teams are sure to keep a closer eye on the Chinese teams and how they play I think.

Our group was Joined by Kaeshi and MrRixter from the ocuk channel for a couple if games last night. First one we countered the opposition well and won quite comfortably in the end, made it a bit hard for ourselves mid game when we kept getting split up but won the last fight and game easy enough.

Second game we got spanked, I don't think our counter picking went all that well and to be fair they played really well and we just ended up getting butchered in relatively short order.

All good though, two more fun games and more people on the friends list :)
