**Official Duke Nukem Forever Thread**

Started playing online.....

Capture the Babe is a good laugh....you need to press E to spank them when their hand covers your vision :D

Really old school online but quite enjoyable! :)

Well lets face it if you need a walkthough for a Duke Nukem game you're hardly the sharpest knife in the drawer.

PEBKAC.

Well when you die 20 times killing a end of level boss then its the natural course of action.

Since when did going to a walkthrough because your stuck in a game make someone thick?

Not everyone measures intelligence by seeing how good someone is with a computer game..

And even if I am good for me, im happy :p

Pretty good as fan made stuff goes. I imagine most Duke fans have seen it, it is 6 months old but i just spotted it myself today, so here it is

Just completed this, thoughts below:

+Best unlockable content I've seen a game; new play modes, movies, screenshots, timeline etc
+Impressive last couple of levels
+Fair amount of variety in terms of blending combat, vehicles, platforming, puzzles etc
+Reasonably true to style, doesn't take itself too seriously
+Boss fights that aren't overly challenging and take damage from (explosive) conventional weapons
+Vaguely entertaining minigames / egoboosts

-Graphically fairly poor, which is a shame given its heritage (in 1998 it was the best looking game I'd ever seen)
-Incredibly linear gameplay, with highly contrived progression (e.g. win a fight and a bit of the debris changes to give you a ramp or something)
-Weapons feel a bit medicore for the most part with the exception of the Devastator
-Inventory system sucks, max 4 weapons and unless I missed something you can't select them directly, you have to scroll to select?
-Not enough variety of baddies
-Fairly short game, only lasts around 10 hours
-Tries a few in-jokes / parodies but generally fails. Max Payne 2 police station level is far superior.
-Puzzles are all a bit 2004.

All in all it is fairly disappointing, it took some 14 years to come out and in style it reminds me a bit of Prey, another much-delayed 3DR title. If it wasn't for that fact that I'd been utterly wowed by the E3 trailer in 1998, and thus had it as my most anticipated game for many years, perhaps I wouldn't feel so let down.
