Official E3 2016 thread.

makes me think SOny might be a bit further down the road so they have announced it to take some of the shine off.

I considered this as soon as I posted. But competition is always good and it drives improvements in hardware.

But with these new improved consoles from MS and Sony, where does this leave Nintendo, they need to pull a rabbit out of the hat to be able to compete.

Thought that was a pretty uninspiring conference. Liked the look of Sea of Thieves and the game before it but nothing really made me want pick up an Xbox. Don't really expect much from Sony either :(

you know, I'll agree, it was fairly boring, and I suspect Sony will be just as boring.

It is the pre E3 leaks, its taking the fun out of it..

So now Scorpio is announced its made the xbox s completely pointless people will want the bigger, better one and no doubt save for that

maybe not. Still plenty in the market for a games console. and the newer more powerful consoles will be pricey.

So it could do well, and its got a 4K player so that might interest a few.

The Scorpio is probably going to be priced to the Xbone S like the Elite controller is to the standard controller. Both will exist. It's like the iPhones now. Whatever replaces Scorpio, will push Scorpio down to entry level and so on.

4k is a very very small user base I'd of thought I mean I have a 4k tv but content itself is limited and I only really use netflix 4k at the moment, it's good they will try push it so it may help it really take off

I feel the xbox one and ps4 were released a little early and if they had waited 6-12 months longer both could have included a 4k player then and maybe we wouldn't have all this refreshed console malarky now.

Well yeah thats just it. Did wonders for PS3 and blu ray. But Sony did have a shed load of exclusives you could play as well towards the end.

xbox brand is from the looks merging into a Windows platform, and that does make me think, hmm maybe i'd be better off with a smaller gaming PC seeing as I can play most of the announced xbox titles on PC?

so the slim model - yes affordable, but the Scorpio, well if its like £499 then for an extra few hundred you can buy a gaming PC that can run the HTC vive and be done with it. Cause this is just in my head rough thinking. you can in fact build a gaming rig for £499 that I bet has the same specs as the Scorpio come release time.

Whereas Sony still has all their exclusives and VR exclusives to get people to buy a Playstation.

I can't see how at 499 they can get a consol to play 4k games smoothly, the price itself is guess work I'd have to say it would start at 599 which would price most people out instantly

That's what I'm wondering but I don't think you'll be able to. I have a feeling Microsoft will be throwing the kitchen sink at this thing and possibly subsidising a big chunk of the price. All just wild guessing though. :p
