How to install addons:

To manually install your AddOns:

1. Download your chosen addon

2. Extract the files to a folder on your desktop.

3. Open your ESO folder.

If using a PC, the typical default install path is:

C:\Users\< username >\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\

If using a Macintosh, the typical default install path is:

~/Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/

4. In the 'live' folder, create a new folder called AddOns (if it doesn’t already exist)

5. Open the AddOns folder

6. Copy the files from the folder on your desktop into the AddOns folder

7. Your final path should look like:

PC:

C:\Users\\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\AddOns\< AddOn A FolderName >\< files >
C:\Users\\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\AddOns\< AddOn B FolderName >\< files >
C:\Users\\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\AddOns\< AddOn C FolderName >\< files >

Mac:

~/Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/AddOns/< AddOn A FolderName >/< files >
~/Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/AddOns/< AddOn B FolderName >/< files >
~/Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/AddOns/< AddOn C FolderName >/< files >

(where < AddOn A Folder > < .B. > < .C. > are the names of the actual folders that the addons create)

9. Log into game. At the character select screen, there should be an "AddOns" button in the lower left corner. Click on that. If any of the mods in the list that pops up say "out of date" or some such, choose the "Load Outdated AddOns" option.

10. Log the rest of the way into game, you should be up and running now. :)
 
From a level 50++ PTS player:

If you're a completionist like me and read into all the plot lines you'll find yourself quickly immersed and playing for large bursts at a time (3 days a week, 5-6 hours). Its hard to say "okay this is a good stopping point", when you've invested yourself in the plot lines that carry through zones (even side quests). The choices you make remind me of KOTOR except the morality is grey, not black and white. A side quest I did at lvl 5 will change the story of a side quest at lvl 45.

I could do what Newbie does and post information incorrectly. But as he forgot to mention the biggest part, i thought it was best to highlight his oblivious obfuscation.

He just needs to grow up and move on. Winding people up is just childish and pathetic.

Report him by pressing the Triangle ! below his name.

Then go to http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/usercp.php

Then click on Edit Ignore List

Then add Newbie007 to the ignore list like this:

Hit okay and he'll be ignored.

It really is destroying this thread, its nearly every other page he is posting and winding someone up.

What class/race do you think would be best for a 2H melee backed up with some ranged spells? I normally avoid melee but quite fancy a bit of heavy duty skull-thumping in this one:D

It would be a race with increases magic pool size. Races like the Nords with their 2h Spec, is only good at the beginning of the game to increase your skill line there faster.

Race wise, Breton, dark elf or high elf are the best choices for magicka heavy builds.

While they don't have melee racials, they have things to benefit magicka. The nightblade is very magic heavy, so you will want to look at boosting that aspect.

But this is a min/max thing, so really don't worry too much about racials, just choose a race you like the look of. Unless you want to min max.

Going to work out a 2h and bow build in a min, but 1h and spell is becoming quite popular at the moment.

You don't need to ask for permission to use my build, do what ever you want with it!

Ok so i'm guessing you have 2 keys?

Early Access and Game Key?

If not, then I'd assume the 1 key you have is everything you need and upon release it'll convert to retail.

Have you downloaded the client? And have you set the region to Europe?

This is one of my biggest concerns.

With an entire MMO generation brought up on hand holding PvP in the form of Battlegrounds, people wont understand what to do and have to drive to do it. They are too used to having the content told to them and brought to them.

having a problem downloading it now though, i had to uninstall it as for some reason it said it was corrupt and when clicking repair it did nothing.
so now i'm downloading it again, but it's only 24% through and i apparently only have 146MB left.. which obviously isn't right, seeing as it was 20 odd gig.

so god knows.. looks like i wont be getting my early access at this rate :mad:

Open the launcher, click on game options I think its called (its not in front of me atm), then check for updates and click repair.

Also browse to your installation directory and check you have "Elder Scrolls Online EU" folder.

It sounds like your ready to go, but its worth doing these checks anyway.
