I did 6 dungeons in a row this morning and have shot up to Level 50 / CP 30, tanking is a very different challenge in this from what I remember in Warcraft but enjoying it.

I take it CP160 is the current max stats on items as I was having a brose of a guild vendor and couldn't see anything higher despite there being a potential for 810 CP, now currently checking out guilds for best item sets for myself and the other half.

Thats correct, i found out the other day from Radox, lol, i wasn't sure myself what the Cp160 everyone was talking about meant.

Im logging in now i can add you to the guild if you like. Whats your name?

Yup, as smokey mentioned items are capped at CP160. Grateful really as otherwise would need to farm over and over to keep items relevant and some can take sooo many runs to get the right item at times as is.

Yeah tanking is very different from other games, no wide ranging taunt like others I gather. Role here is to taunt biggest threats and apply debuffs like fracture to the enemy so your teamates can do more damage while applying buff's to your teamates like warhorn.

On matter of gear, some easy ones to get for a tank when you hit CP160 is Ebon armour which gives health bonus to anyone in your group. Another nice one is Torug's Pact which makes weapon damage enchants stronger. Pair with the correct enchant such as those which means enemy takes and dish's out less damage and you make things easier on your teamates. This one is a craftable set with only 3 traits being known and along with Ebon makes a solid staple for a tank, even at higher levels I rock them in Vet DLC dungeons on my tanks. Plenty of other sets of course, but just two easy to get ones without needing to splash gold.

Well, just for a change I bought the Elsweyr update on CDkeys.

Want to play as a Necromancer. Necro was my favourite alt on Guildwars 2. Hopefully I will enjoy the ESO Necro just as much.

Rad can i be really cheeky and ask you to craft me a couple of flame destruction staffs to tide me over till i reach 160 please.

That house is epic. Can only dream of all your gear and goodies hehe.

Also guys if anybody comes across a mothers sorrow inferno staff, or maelstrom inferno staff at 160 i would very much like to buy these off you. Also false god devotion gear. Once im there if i find anything anyone wants ill do the same, assuming you can trade them......

oh as a side note, with greymoore coming out end of month, the normal version of maelstrom arena will drop maelstrom weapons now. The veteran version will drop perfected versions now which has an additional bonus. Sadly not upgrading prexisitng maelstrom weapons, but still a way to get it via normal maelstrom which is pretty doable for most people.

same applies to dragon star arena 4 man content, master items drop from normal version with perfected ones with an additional bonus dropping from the vet version.

Do we know if the non-perfect stats are being nerfed? Or will the non-perfect just stay the same as it currently is, with the perfect being better?

Non-Perfect ones will basically be the current malestrom weapons. You will be able to farm them though from normal version but they will drop in blue. The perfected will now drop only from the vet version, they will have an additional stat, so the staff for example adds some spell penetration. If you already earned malestrom weapons, they will NOT be upgraded, so anyone who got them via vet to date will basically have the same ones you can farm from normal.

Same applies to Dragonstar weapons.

TBH i don't mind them dropping in normal mode, just annoying for those who spent hours farming the malestrom stuff, more so prior to clockwork city which allowed you to change traits are not being upgraded.

Was online today and took a few style sheets out of the Guild Bank. Thanks to whoever put them in there.

Also, my new character needed a few soul gems in a hurry and I took a few of them too rather than logout and login to my main. Thanks for those as well :)

Yeah no probs take all style sheets / soulgems you need, threw loads in there and still so many style sheets to drop in still. Know Dan also threw some in.

Reinstalled last night, good to see it still runs like absolute ****. Are they planning any more multicore optimisations?

They do have some plans apparently: https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/56681

Some coming with next big drop due end of month. Would not expect anything earth shattering in terms of improvement tbh, though I think I am okay for most the part perf wise outside a few spots and once add-ons load. Do check add-ons and the merchant ones in particular if you have those, can be punishing when loading data.

Fresh install with no addons at all, I was getting barely 30FPS in Stormhaven with my processor and GPU barely loaded at all due to how poorly the game is optimised for multiple cores. Some settings changes and ini file changes (game defaulted to everything on high/ultra) helped a lot to get closer to 60fps in busy areas like main towns. Didn't do much more than that as it somewhat dampened my enthusiasm for getting back into it... will probably leave it for the update and see how it is then.

Yeah use a 7980XE so loads of cores too. Though lower core count are largely similar, right now rock around 60-70 in largest areas then more other spots. Sadly I doubt you will be too happy with the update tbh as they have been saying for years performance will improve. Doubt it will change significantly, I have just sadly tapered my expectations over the years :(

For me it runs fine for the most part, then all of sudden it will drop down to under 30fps and stay that way until I change zone or restart the game.

Sometimes when alt-tab out of the game and go back the Fps returns to normal.

In your User Settings file, what is the MaxCoresToUse.4 value?
What CPU do you have?
All in my signature.

As mentioned I made some changes in the ini file, but its ridiculous that this is required to get reasonable performance 6 years after release. I put a decent amount of time into it a couple years ago (couple of max level characters will full CP160 gear etc) on an entirely different system at the time, it was the same then with performance.

My user settings file is the same as when the game first released. I may try backing up all my settings and then deleting the file, seeing if that improves anything.

runs fine for me 4670k @ 4ghz and 980ti
Game installed on SSD.

no pauses or stuttering.

just annoying loading screens and ridiculous bag space limits if you aren't eso+ make me not play it so much.

+ combat seems boring atleast as necro
