*** Official Elder Scrolls MMO Thread ***

After playing the Beta for several hours I was convinced they would need at least 3-6 months to fix things like combat & magic, the UI, and some general bug fixes.

Seems they plan on throwing it out to the masses and hoping people won't notice.....

It's a crying shame as I have enjoyed the elder scrolls games since all the way back to Daggerfall. Can't see this doing well at all judging from the Beta and now the retail price + subscription issue.

I mostly enjoyed the beta but I wasn't able to test the PvP as it wasn't working which was a real shame. The main concern for me was the difficulty, I could solo big packs without issue and I could auto-run through the wilderness and not worry about being killed. My other issue was grouping seemed pointless, I didn't come across any quests that you needed to group for and you only had to tag mobs to get credit for them so people just attacked everything in sight.

I left them plenty of feedback in the survey regarding the difficulty and also the combat was pretty clunky. When I shared my views on the combat in the area chat the general reply was, "its an Elder Scrolls game, what do you expect? It's not about the combat". Well I'm sorry but an mmo with poor combat isn't going to do well in the long run and saying, "hey it's an ES game!" isn't going to make it alright!

Hmm been looking forward to this for a while now, the new cinematic is great.

The pricing is definitely putting me off though and the fact there isn't much positivity coming from the beta.

Also reading that in the special editions you get to chose which faction you play for...
...and the ability to play as any of the nine races in any Alliance.
That sounds like a horrible idea to me, totally takes away the point in having 3 factions at the very start of the game :(

LOL. Yeah pretty sure I wont be playing this game. That's going to completely ruin the feel of the game

Tbf, when hasn't there been a war in reality where people have switched sides? Pretty sure we had a few German allies in WW2, so it's not exactly immersion breaking if you can create say, an Altmer who's part of the Ebonhart Pact.

Altmer being compared to the Nazis, fitting.

I can say 50f is to much for sub based game. I bet they know game will be fail so they want to milk it as much as possible.
Same like they did with SW TOR.

Anyhow i would be happy to pay 30f and then 9f a month but 50 is tad ****ing to much for a pc game !!! Its ok for Ps4 tho :P

then add a quest to switch sides like everquest 2 had and make it part of the story

The Guild Wars payment model would have been perfect for this (buy the game and then no monthly sub), when I pay a monthly sub I expect a LOT of content and frequent content updates and this doesn't seem like it will satisfy on that front.

New 18.5 GB patch patch availabile.

Possibly a beta coming up.

Edit: Seems much less, it patches about 20 GB though. Download around 6 GB all together.

New beta incoming Friday, February 7th at 12:00PM EST until Monday, February 10th at 11:59PM EST. There is an update (quite a big one as I mentioned above) so best get that before trying to jump in the game if anyone is looking to have another crack at it.

Also, curse.com have half a million keys if you haven't got into beta yet and want to give it a whirl. Premium members can get a key now, everyone else can get one from the 6th.

Agreed, even a huge IP like Star Wars only sold 2million boxes in the 1st 6 months. I doubt this will get that sort of figures even taking into account the Skyrim factor..
