It seems to be a common trend among students with long hair who drink a lot. Not seen a lot of guys over 23 use it.

Seems to be used on the forum a lot. Must be a computer geek thing :p

Is it just me? Or do you also hate the word being used?

*Awaits daft responses including the word :D*

I am 25 and use it. Want to fight about it? It would be totally awesome.

edit: Epic win, and epic fail are facts of life man. Everything can be divided into those two boxes of karmic value

My 7 year old says it now, I have no idea where it came from but seems to be firmly fixed in common culture for the minors

What bugs me about it is the misappropriation of the word for things that are just slightly better/worse than average, it means that when something genuinely is epic in the proper sense of the word that it doesn't get described properly e.g. the scale of the universe or walking to the North Pole by yourself with nothing more than a tin of Spam and some Kendal Mint Cake get lumped in with receiving an extra 20p in your change or finding out that you got some extra coleslaw with your burger "what an epic win that is".

If the word is used correctly then I've still got no problem with it but I find myself cringing slightly when I hear people using it for anything and everything regardless of context.

Used by the sheep who can't even think of words such as huge or stupendous. Almost as bad as the use of "I'm gutted". You're not a fish lying on a slab are you. I don't understand why you can't just be disappointed or didn't these teach you that word at school. Still the use will fade away until another “popular” term appears.

Removes grumpy hat. :p:D

gay thread of epic fail

Epic doesn't really annoy me, but the requirement of everyone under the age of 30 to refer to everything slightly better than neutral as awesome does.
