**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

After messing about for 50 odd hours on this playthrough I have started the main quest by going to see Nick Valentine. It just doesn't fit in with the game. With just a few dialogue tweaks it could make perfect sense as well and would be much better.

RE Cambridge Police Station

Every time I step in, Danse goes on about the supplies that I can use to restock, and I saw one of the loading screens mention it - WHERE ON EARTH is it?!

Also, can you add ballistic weave to the Vault Suit? If not, is there any way of improving it?

Just had a weird experience. Was around Lexington (had a quest to clear Ghouls from the Super Duper Mart) and for no reason whatsoever I kept getting the kaching sound and 9XP. I wasn't killing anything, nor was Strong. There were no enemies near by, and I wasn't in stealth mode nohing. I simply could not work out why I was getting all this XP. Got to a building where tough raiders in PA like to hide (one on the bridge has a FatMan usually. I cleared this area out 100+ hours ago.

Around the same time, I was thinking to myself that it's a shame I've not seen a Behemoth yet. Then litterally, as I went around the corner I spotted a super mutant, but not just a normal one, a Behemoth! There were loads of dead ghouls and raiders scattered about, one of which had two Fat Mans on him! I can only guess that even though I was quite a distance away when it was happening, that the ghouls or raiders being killed were crediting me with the XP. Very odd. It's a shame, would have loved to see the Behemoth fight them all off. It only took two sneak shots from my Overseer's Guardian to kill him too, so either the game is getting too easy, even on very hard, or he was already injured...

I finally finished the game and having done so I've uninstalled it. I honestly don't think I'll ever go back to it as it just didn't hold the same sway over me as Skyrim.
I genuinely hated the automatic radiant quests and the inability to switch them off and the settlement building I just found frustrating and lacking.
Hopefully the new Elder Scrolls game (if it comes out) won't adopt the perk system and will allow more dialogue.

Yeah, I can see me needing some closure soon. I have ~180 hours now and I've still not reported to Danse, haven't been to CIT, haven't been to see Deacon after completing the Freedom Trail. In fact, the furthest I've progressed with any faction is the Minutemen where I've taken the Castle back and completed Old Guns.

What armour is everyone wearing? I don't like using PA - I never enjoy vehicles in games. I'm currently using heavy metal (not the Iron Maiden variety!) armour, with a value of about 179 I think. My energy resistance is quite low though.

Also, aside from chems and legendary equipment, is there any apparel that boost charisma or intelligence more than 3? I'm using a lab coat when I build settlements to get more XP and Agatha's Dress to get better trading rates.

I've exhausted every activity in the game now. All locations, quests etc. I decided the other day to mess around with the console commands. I ended up spawning 500 synths outside my heavily fortified Red Rocket base. It was like the Chinese invasion all over again.

I'll be doing that myself soon. The attacks are the same every time and they come at really annoying times.

I've got a weird bug. When I go to any of my doctors for treatment all my options are "positive". ie I have no radiation, I don't need healing, I'm not addicted. Selecting any of them doctors just reply "that's great have a nice day"

Not sure whether that's cos I have the full dialog mod installed but it only happened last night.

has anybody had trouble withe the Semper invicta missions . I have accepted both missions after joining but no missions appear ?? I walk outside the police station but still the police station is listed as my way point and no mission destination are listed !!! if that makes sence??

There's a few scraps of ammo and other material lying around but it's a bit of a misnomer when it's referred to as a supply base. AFAIK none of the boxes or drawers restock either. The main BoS supply line arrives with the Prydwen - Ad Victorium!

Not sure if it's related but in my first play through I had "Talk to Danse" as a quest objective but couldn't engage him in direct dialogue until after
arrival of the Prydwen

I'm using mark 5 ballistic weave military fatigues, mark 5 ballistic weave hat and a mixture of legendary pieces of combat armour and synth armour (all crafted as much as possible, of course). I have 308 ballistic, 315 energy and 40 radiation resistance. I could get more ballistic and energy resistance by using crafted sturdy or heavy pieces, but I like the collection of bonuses from the legendary pieces and I don't think having maybe 10% more ballistic and energy resistance would be as useful as those bonuses.

I am overpowered and playing to it. I'm roleplaying someone who wants to be the legendary founder of a country, so I want a suitably legendary reputation. Stroll into a supermutant camp, ring the bell on the counter and fire a few rounds to get their attention and stride through a hail of bullets to kill them all. 10 against 1? You'd better go fetch some backup, because the 1 is me.

I only care about how an armour looks. I'm wearing either Kellog's armour or Zeke's, not sure which I like more atm, with an assortment of black combat armour pieces. This is using a mod that let's you wear any armour as underarmour

Same thoughts as me

Haha sweet. I've just using BOS uniform under my armour bits. Doesn't boost any stats but it looks cool with the rusting metal armour. I'd already had countless bits of Sturdy combat armour and metal armour that I'd scrapped before I understood that armour bits come in light, medium, and heavy. So when installed a mod that allows me to craft light, medium, and heavy as mods, I don't consider it cheating, especially when it takes quite a few bits of crafting material.

How do you mod the underlying fatigues etc? None of mine show up on the crafting table; or do they become mod-able once you get the ballistic weave?

Yeah I hate how my heavy metal armour looks but I play as first person exclusively so I only really see it in cut scenes and chat etc. The metal armour would look much better without those silly shoulder blade things though.

Yup you need to unlock ballistic weave to be able to mod some of the costumes.

Cheers. I already know how and wear (intentional typo) to get it, I'm just nervous of going to any of the main factions. I understand the game warns before PNRs etc, but I realise there are quests that will not warn you that you're about to royally **** off other factions.

Can anyone tell me the best way to play out as much of the faction quest lines up until the point I have to choose? I want to do as many quests as possible without being locked out of any of them. The only line I've progressed much with is the Minutemen where I've completed Old Guns.
