Indeed. With all this talk of bugs and fake AI e.t.c it is very easy to forget a games primary purpose...which is to be fun. This game has it in bucket loads and i find the driving (which is the most important part of any racing game) to be very rewarding and challenging at the same time.

You just now when you are on a good lap or "in the zone" and it feels great fun.

in the interest of science.

i dug a GTS250 [aka 9800GTX+ aka overclocked 9800GTX aka 10% ish faster than an 8800gtx] out of its grave to give it a run.

we put it on a heavily overclocked i7 rig to unleash the full potential of this earth shattering GPU

closest monitor we have is a dell 2711.

guess what?

it ran like a dog

Yeah, the game has its problems but I cannot stop playing it. I cannot wait to play it online.

I tried it with my 9800GT physx card @ 1920x1080 and it ran crap....

I agree it is about the fun and it is fun but it doesn't mean I feel less agreeved by the problems in this game. Qualifying last night, I was doing everything to keep close to Massa while I was in my lotus, I managed to just keep him in view yet his lap was 4.XXX seconds quicker than me. While not game destroying it does destroy the illusion of the game.
 
Whats with the ghost cars in online mode? They seem to change randomly from solid to ghost form ?

Last night I was going around the bend after overtaking a ghost Rubens, Alguersuari was next he was ghost so I thought I would stick to racing line as I about go though him he turns solid I hit the back of him and get a 5 grid penalty drop.

Its doing it on both AI and human opponents, have I missed something here a setting ?

I shouldn't. But I laughed pretty hard at this.

It would appear that the game is playing games with you.

99% certain that it can happen on straights on car etc that have not spun out. In fact I think some have been ghost for entire race. I do not even understand why implement such a stupid feature, ghost cars if they spin and rejoin in a race??? Just wtf were they thinking ?

On another issue how do you load car setups? It would appear they have vanished when I come to load them up.
 
I really wish they would or who ever is responsible codemasters or Nvidia :D sort out the frame skip issue with my gtx 460 :(

Sorry i know it's a known issue but really starting to bug me apart from that dont you just love it when you become hooked up on a lap what a buzz :)

Which drivers are you running? The latest beta ones have been superb for me.
