***Official Formula One 2011 Thread***

ooo im excited. Sounding very good!

"As in last year's game, they can sometimes move to defend too early, giving you the chance to overtake them on the outside, but this happens a lot less in F1 2011. The AI drivers are also much more consistent across all of the circuits in this year's game. You no longer find that they are too fast at some tracks or too slow at others, and they certainly don't struggle in fast corners like they did in F1 2010. "

The main criticism seems to be that it isn't very accessible to a non-F1 fan (to me this is a good thing) and some of the tracks are very bland, especially if you stop anywhere on them (well, I don't plan to be stopping and many of the F1 tracks are bland in real life too e.g Bahrain).

Quick question.

Does anyone have any news on the replay's? Are they proper real life F1 camera angles or same angles CM came up with last year?

Yes, there are proper F1 replays (I posted a link to confirmation somewhere in here) - apparently they haven't included ALL the camera locations from the tracks, but a good number of them.

Good find anuraj :)

I agree with stoke1863, "too technical" or "not accessible to not F1 fans" is a good thing imo.

Will be interesting to see what it is like with all assists switched off. Sounds tricky with the new rules.

I dont think its picky to expect the cars to sound like they do irl, especially the renault as it sounds sooo distinct

If you want it to be that realistic, go and drive a real F1 car.

The cars sound much better than they did last year and a 12 month development cycle isn't very long to get every detail like that worked out.

Most people won't even notice tbh.

seriously its not a massive task to get the engine to sound right. There are only 4 engines. IS that how you win an argument? Go drive a real F1 car....

It is a massive task to get the blown diffusers right - not all teams do it and the teams have have implemented it have taken a variety of approaches, most of which are poorly understood (certainly more complex than your "4 engines" argument when you also factor in EBDs).

That would be a headache to implement along with everything else that has been added to 2011.

Gamers really are a fussy bunch.
