Is only one core working then?

In system under Windows it shows no CPU at all

Nope there wasn't.

It was a dodgy XP install using nLite- obviously it had missed some essential driver for dual core support... Just did a reinstall from my original XP home disc and there are 2 CPUs listed now

Hi - Is there a link showing differences between the original board and the 3.3 Rev?

Post No. 1 of this very thread. As you might have expected given this is the Official DS3 thread. :p

3.3 supports 1333 cpu i think is the main difference

They all support 1333, it's just that on the early ones you have to set it manually, the 6x50's boot up underclocked.

At least someone noticed it :p

Is there anything I need to update on the opening post by the way? I don't use the DS3 anymore so am out of touch.

Quick Question...Just got my machine back and the DVD drive is not in device manager

I'm assuming it's just a case of the wire not being stuck into the DS3, but it has power and the tray is working...

Yes, sounds like you need to check the 40 pin ide cable at both ends to ensure it's fitted correctly.

Then check the bios settings too.

Sorry.....I'm rubbish! What colour is the ide slot on the mobo pls?

Green

The long one below the sata channels :)
What should I be checking within the BIOS?
In regards to that, I *think*, but not 100% certain, that you can switch off the IDE channel with a BIOS setting.

Yes, you can indeed disable the IDE but this kills off the 2 SATA Ports but also the standard IDE ports too, so unless you have SATA CD/DVD Drives, you will lose the use of your CD/DVD Drives.
