***Official Gigabyte Z77X-UP4 TH, Z77X-UP5 TH and Z77X-UP7 discussion thread***

I assume the Samsung can get to 1866 without any problems on the UP4 TH anyway, which is all I would want out of it because I've heard it's diminishing after that for general use. Probably misinformed :D.

Nice, I want the Samsungs because of the low profile and I don't really like heatspreaders on ram, and they are black too with really low volts.

Gotta wait for payday to order a UP4 TH and 3570k, but the heat problems I read about 3570k make me want to wait for something else. I probably won't notice any severe heat problems at 4.2 or 4.5GHz though with D-14 and lots of airflow in new case?

Got any pics of your pc anywhere stulid?

Hm, I stole 1 of the screws out of my XFX 8800 GTX... I don't suppose it will miss it. It's slightly bigger screw but sits flush and doesn't move. Been cleaned with air, applying Gelid GC-Extreme ready for new owner.

Really nice! :D

Everything else looks great, even the red on the radiator fan looks cool. What do you think about those 200mm Bitfenix? Might stick one up top in my Arc Midi that's coming on Friday. That photograph made me want a UP5 TH even more.

Also have noticed the UP4 doesn't have the extra sata power connector next to the sata 6gb sockets for extra power to pci-e sockets, does that even matter if I was to get another 7970?

Ah, right. The Ultra Durable 5 intro was an interesting watch. If those temps are realistic it's much, much better temps than you can get from the Sabertooth.

I'm interested in the UP4-TH. not sure whether thunderbolt is worth it? Is this going to be standard soon?

Its certainly making its way across a variety of boards (not just Gigabyte) it can also be found on much cheaper boards and of different sizes, there is an mATX GBT board coming also.

As with everything new, it takes time to get the train rolling so to speak, also external caddies that have Thunderbolt included are current a bit pricey.

Interesting. Reviews say the UP4 TH clocks like a beast, could always ignore thunderbolt until cables and caddies come down a bit I suppose

Overclocking also depends on your CPU (they do differ)

True but my reasoning for considering the UP4 TH was by looking for a mobo that clocked well and was as future proof as possible. I was looking at an i5 ivy build or waiting to see what Haswell will offer and what socket it will be launched on
