***Official Gigabyte Z77X-UP4 TH, Z77X-UP5 TH and Z77X-UP7 discussion thread***

How were you measuring the Vcore and droop? CPU-Z?

What can I use to measure it? Only the bios and easytune6 seem to tell me the voltage, but it never fluctuates at all so I don't think it's accurate. Is it possible the voltage reading on my chip is stuck? The Bios seems to give accurate reading but it doesn't change.

cpu-z will show you, under 100% load see howmuch cpu voltage is compared to whats listed/set in easytune

CPU-Z always shows as 1.056 V for me. Don't know why. Easytune says 1.43V aswell, when I set it to 1.175 in bios lawl. FFS. :D Must be some wrong settings.

CPUID Hardware Monitor Seems to be working, no idea why the voltage goes to 1.3+v in bios when I set it so low though. edit: Stopped working now must be a setting I disbale in bios, probably themral monitor or similar.falling asleep though. x_x

Also after updating bios, mouse is reversed...not that I use it though.

replacing my msi z77 gd-65 with a gigabyte board, budget is £170 having a hard time picking between up4 and ud5h. both similar in price will be overclocking and gaming any help would be appreciated

UD5H,

More SATAIII +USB3.0 connectors
Better sound chip.
BIOS switch, clearCMOS+reset switch

UP4 TH,

Dual Thunderbolt
New IR3550 power stages.

Pick one, flip a coin on it.

I would pick the UP4 because I like how cool the IR3550 power stages run. It would be nice to have the clearCMOS and dual bios switches though.

I have a question about overclocking on the UP4:

What do you guys disable or change when overclocking? I disabled EIST etc as a habit from using the P4 3.2/Q6600 3.2 as they didn't appreciate EIST.

I disabled all in CPU section except the auto overvoltage of PLL. Any of you guys mind posting some screens of what you think are important settings? Might help other rookies in the future. :)

Wow, really good price! I was tempted but went for the UP4 with the newer phases instead of the onboard fans, the sabertooth looks amazing though but really was the only reason I wanted it. How nice is it in the flesh?

Also, my computer won't go to sleep so maybe I disabled something I shouldn't have? Doesn't matter really though because boots in about 20 seconds flat. xD

Disable Turboboost and the bottom four,

• CPU enhanced halt (C1E)
• C3/C6 state support
• CPU thermal monitor
• CPU EIST function

Thanks, I have those disabled by habit. Wazza30 said it's alright to have EIST enabled, I might try it out to see if it's stable. :D

Update: No problems with EIST, undervolts very well and returns to full OC and voltage instantly, pleased with it. Downclocks to 1.6GHz at like 0.9V.
