I don't fully agree with the F1 red flag rules although I think fixing damage should be allowed. But the changing tyres is nuts
Agreed. There needs to be a middle ground. Fixing damage is fine to me, but changing tyres shouldn't be allowed.
Maybe something like only being able to fix damage that would give you the meatball. So part damaged and dangerous, change. Part clean broken but "still driveable safely", tough luck, do a lap and pit?
Alternatively find a way of classifying them as pitstops under red flag and shuffle them back.
Though the teams would all try and game these hard I suspect. Indy seems to be OK being a little rough and ready with the racing vs F1.

I don't think F1 would allow any damage that could be fixed to be left, as you say Indy seems to be happy to let more of that go

Good race, and so many drivers choosing not to go round again as they didn't have the fuel to do it.
O'Ward needed a good result to keep the pressure on palou, but with Palou winning the race and Pato finishing outside the points I fear it's all but over for any challenge to Alex.

The Newgarden crash was a scary one as it happened live. Has a completely different feel to watching something that you know is a replay.

Switched over to the NXT race during one of the many safety cars in the F1 and saw it too was red flagged, because of this!
