Official Indycar Thread

1 of those static cams in the middle of the Indy track showing the whole track(like the one hovering over the casino earlier at Monaco) would look really cool here.

Or terrible depending on how high it needs to hover/how small your tv is. :D

Has anyone else noticed that every Indycar pit crew has to have at least one fat bloke, stretching their overalls to their limits?

Normally the refueller too

Nascar is the same, usually the guy that comes out with a sledge hammer or angle grinder when the cars get damaged.

That was a pretty gash race, large parts were like Monaco but on an oval lol.

End was ruined as well by the two cars on verge of being lapped never getting out of the way

I watch every year but it’s underwhelming most of the time

I enjoyed it, glad Palou won, I enjoyed the race, happy to see Newgarden dnf, glad Ericsson didn’t win.
Funny to see the pit antics.

Seems there was even more cheating going on:

IndyCar said:
The No. 27 and 28 entries from Andretti Global, and the No. 90 from PREMA Racing have been moved to the rear of the Indianapolis 500 field after failing post-race technical inspection. All three cars have been re-ordered based on their unofficial finishing positions.Additionally, each car has been fined $100,000, and the team/competition managers for the three entries have been suspended for one race, to be served at the next event on the Streets of Detroit.

The Athletic said:
IndyCar said the Andretti cars of Ericsson and Kirkwood both were found to have modifications to the covers on their hybrid units and had unapproved parts, which IndyCar said “provided the capability of enhanced aerodynamic efficiency to both cars.”

Ilott’s Prema car had a front wing endplate that “failed to meet the minimum endplate height and location specification,” IndyCar said.

It's a good job Ericsson didn't win...

If its good enough for Penske.... I wouldn't be surprised to see a team like Andretti get involved if they think Penske are at it.
Prema's sounds more like an error than something deliberately underhand to be fair.

Will Power doing Will Power things……in practice!

As an aside this track makes Monaco look like the M1 or something! Turn 1 is just going to be crash after crash.

It looks absolutely amatuer, I'm not sure some of that would be approved as a kart track in Europe, let alone for the "top" level of Single Seaters
