**** Official Infamous: Second Son ****

What does everyone think of all the touch screen integration? Cant say without playing but it really bugged me on uncharted on vita. Just watched a bit off footage for this ( some touch stuff i noticed in spoiler tag, only related to controls)

You have to swipe up to open boxes, swipe left to open a door, use it to scan finger prints etc

All stuff i would prefer to just be allocated to a button imo. But then it may feel great, i just worry they are doing it as its available and they have been told to implement all the features

Another thing is wheres all the cars :P now im just splitting hairs

Even more annoying is that I sent my trade in game on Friday and haven't heard anything from them about it. I've had to email them asking what's going on
*edit*
Just had an email from Gamestop saying trade and save has been accepted and I'll only pay £14.97 for this game :D

I've just had to email them about the same issue. Don't think I'll order with them again, making us both have to email them twice to honor an offer they advertised isn't really on IMO.

What style of game play does this game offers?

I watched some 2 hour game play video last night on Youtube (skipped here and there), there was a lot of running around, firing bolts of energy at the police, blowing up cars, then run away, climb up building, rinse and repeat?

It looks very pretty but the game play seem very 1 diamensional, is there more to this than the above?

No it's very one dimensional. Like most games, all you do is run around, shoot, jump, repeat. However, not sure what else you want them to do? Mario is one dimensional as well but people seem to be happy with it.

I'm glad you are not the game's PR spokes person lol

I was hoping one may say the game has many layers, the powers he get changes the dynamic of game play, the game world is infinitely interactive etc.

Not sure what all the fuss over this game is to be honest. Looks pretty generic and dull.

Fair enough, pretty much how I feel about every single FPS.

Edit: Just ordered this for £41.37 from flubit, going to send the other one back when it arrives.

Been keeping an eye on this one as it seems to be the next big ps4 game but it just doesn't look interesting. Certainly not at the price being asked for it. I'll wait for something else.

It is a big game but it's also mainly due to the fact it's just the first exclusive since launch so naturally it's getting over hyped.

As opposed to a generic 3rd person shooter like Uncharted? Or a generic driving game like Gran Turismo? Or a generic 1st person shooter like Killzone?

As for the high price, welcome to 'next-gen'. I'd say Infamous is worth the £45ish price tag much more than Thief/COD Ghosts for example.

How come reviews are so close to launch now? I remember when you'd buy OPM in the PSX days and get a review for a game that was out a bit in the future.

It's all down to the embargo set by the publisher. Some publishers set the deadlines quite close to the release of the game. I remember for my review of Dead Space 2 I was even given a guide sheet from EA which listed the gameplay stuff I wasn't allowed to mention in my review!

I just find it all a bit odd, is there a reason for it?

Review Embargo's are usually for two reasons.

1. The Game is bad and they don't want to hurt pre-orders / sales.
2. They want to treat the reviewers all equally.

Why its a day before? Only the publishers know why. It might simply be the fact they want to maintain the hype / buzz and that if the game was reviewed weeks ago then it might loose momentum over the interveneing period irrspective of whether the game is good or bad.

From the general buzz around the game it shouldnt get anything below 75% from most mainstream reviewers.

Infamous is the reason i got a PS4 over an Xbox so i hope its good.

That's an interesting angle. I don't think they can go wrong with it, the only thing that might go against it is that it's the same gameplay with better graphics, but it's a bit harsh to penalise for that when it applies to many games.
