**** Official Infamous: Second Son ****

to the people who have it... verdict? i know it hasn't really been long enough to tell.

I have done about 2 hours and it's good but tbh nothing amazing. It feels like it is trying hard to push the PS4 graphically but at the same time lacks the little touches that make games stand out. Once the wow factor passes you really start noticing the lack of detail and it becomes a bit annoying tbh.

I would so far give it a 6.5/10 but that's only based on the first 2 hours.

I only like what you're saying as I try not to spend £50 on games these days. Keep us updated after hour 4 please.

makes me glad I cancelled my preorder, I knew graphically it be good, but the gameplay would be dull as dishwater, let me guess go here, follow this guy, kill these guys rinse and repeat, same old infamous :(

I only paid a fiver for my copy, used my Clubcard points so if it's not to my taste I will be quids in. Looks good though I'm sure I will enjoy it.

Sounds just like the review in the Metro

I was hoping this would be good enough to entice me to get a PS4, guess it can wait a bit more now.

So just like any other game of this type, all games are just like this now, go there, do that, come back and repeat till game finished

Just read that review and tbh it is pretty much how I feel. Another game released as more of a tech demo than game.

I'm back playing GTA V now and will go back to this over the weekend.

Seems all the reviews are saying the same. Pretty much sums what I think of this series so far. Desperately want a game to play on my PS4. Guess the wait goes on.

I may b ok with this. Like having a super hot but not exciting girlfriend. You get bored but then you look at her again and it doesn't seem all that bad again.

What about the powers? Do any of them make you go "wow"?

The graphics in general make you go wow and when using the powers there is some environmental interaction. It's then you notice the lack of the finer details. If you walk into a cone you stop, Chairs stop you dead, no movement of water, bushes and shrubs when you walk through etc etc. It just feels a bit dated in that respect.

It's by no means bad but it feels it's style over substance. It reminds me of the film Battleship tbh.

You get the feeling the main aim of the game is to showcase the graphics power of the PS4.

I know it's a bit extra (can't understand why). But I'm thinking of going to the diskless download, really hate having to swap disks out to change games.

Is it possible to get this anywhere other than the official Sony store?

I'm about 4 hours in now and tbh bored with it. So far all I have done is move from point to point taking control of things with the same fights over and over again.

I have no idea how this got such good reviews. I think I'm either doing something very wrong or this is just not my type of game although I did enjoy the last two.

Thanks for the honest feedback, it's what I feared from the previews I'd seen, it looks lovely but it's style over substance and what's underneath is pretty average.

Hopefully the next one will move things on a bit as the formula is pretty much unchanged since the first game. I'm sure it'll sell well anyway, similar to how Titanfall has fared very well because of the lack of much else exciting being released (Titanfall does at least bring a few new things to the table but it's not as good as I had hoped).
