***Official Intel Haswell Thread***

Yeah strange. I just got my 4770K and I could not find a voucher anywhere...

But 5UB to the rescue within minutes :D

Curious mine was in the box then, as surely only Intel could have done that.

mine was just pushed in the bottom of the big bround box my ocuk order came in I'm guessing the person taped up the box and then realised he didn't stick one in, partially sticking out the side of the box or I wouldn't have known it was there because the bottom flaps would have been hiding it and I likely would never have checked

A little reminder to all who are looking into delidding Haswell, those little capacitors next to the die can EASILY be taken off. Here is a dead one already with 2 capacitors chipped off:

Just be careful. With Ivy Bridge the Razor method is decent as long as you're careful, with Haswell you can easily nick one off being too rough or cutting too deep. Go for the vice method with Haswell!

I find the idea of hitting my new 4670K with anything rather distressing :p. I won't know how toasty it gets until tomorrow as I have to many things to do this evening. Can't complain though, as one of them involves replacing our led tv with a Panasonic plasma :).

I am hoping my Titan Fenrir Evo will do the job with a 4.2Ghz overclock for now. Stock would probably do with a 560ti at 1680x1050 res though.

wouldn't a car jack or hydraulic press work better? aslong as you clamp it in the vice the same way, then you could slowly increase the pressure till the lid came free

You'd be putting the whole cpu under some pretty heavy pressure for too long that way - the fast-hit method cracks the glue off without unduly stressing the rest of the cpu.

My ex mother in law could bite that off,no need for a vice :)
Infact she'd be able to eat a doughnut n ride her broom at the same time!
On a serious note, just ordered a 4770k along with everything else for my first pc build in what feels like 20 years:)
If there's a haswell capable of hitting 95 at stock!
You can rest assured I'll get it

At stock my R4 case is now almost totally silent with my PWM fan controller thingy, its actually giving me weird tinnitus; I'm so used to sitting next to constant drone.

nkata shie you got new business plan just there :D
Anyone with cnc machine could mill one like that in few minutes :P

wouldn't your delidder machine be better with something like a pinball launcher mechanism, to give it a quick knock and break the seal of the glue. So just something you can pull back on a spring and release.

@nkata that's what I meant, something you could clamp slowly to prise the cap off

I wouldn't have the big tall notch the left hand side tho, just high enough to hold the cpu pcb
