***Official Intel Haswell Thread***

well after reading around about haswell presure cookers ive decided to go 3930k and sell my ivy and board. later update to ivy-e if its not a presure cooker either!

I hope ive done the right thing! lol I have a good 5.0ghz ivy chip!

Good graph that shows 4th/3rd/2nd gen i7s all at their stock 3.5GHz.

Reading that im confused, it appears to be <1% faster in 3dMark than SB/IB, and in Dirt 4/5% faster. Considering this is all at the same clock speed and Haswell doesn't clock as high does that make it worse than SB/IB for gaming? O.o the wPrime results show it 2.4% up on IB at the same clock, so its not as good for folding?

I wonder when we'll see the magic 5ghz become the norm for 24/7

When AMD release Centurion ^^

There would be plenty of people including myself that would buy second hand ivy that can do 5ghz at some good price :D
Shame not all of us got 1k posts. And i dont like to post for no reason just to get count up :P

Anyway can any of Haswell owners run us cinebench with multi and single core tests and post what they are getting at around 4.4 or 4.5 ghz ??

Its very hard to find those results and i looked for hours :(

I am half tempted to buy it off you, but I have a 4770K sitting here waiting for an Asus Maximus Hero to arrive. Decisions... lol

ha ha well i guess the choice is yours! a very good chip though! and that 4770k might well be a hot one! but if it makes 4.5g you will be happy! decisions decisions ....lol

Ye after reading reviews i am not even bothered to get haswell atm.....
Cause what sort of gold chip i would need to pass my 5ghz sandy.... One that does 4.8 and by looks of it we have 1 or 2 of those on forums atm......

What voltage are you using on SB to achieve 5ghz?

After reading about Haswell's overclocking, it has put me in dilemma. I would like to upgrade my 775 platform at some point next year, but can't decide what should I upgrade to?

Haswell, Broadwell or lga 2011 or Haswell-E (if different 2011 socket shape) ?

broadwell should fit 1150 socket from what ive read, but intel like to change tactics so I wouldn't guarantee it

go haswell imo,if your gonna spend might aswell spend on the best performing

Word on the vine is Haswell may last through 2014 and Broadwell will come in 2015. This is not good, Intel aren't getting competition in the desktop or enthusiast market, they wipe AMD off the map.

Deleted member 2277 1.46v core atm max temps 71c iafter 4 runs of ibt :) Its Semi stable Ok for gaming and benchmarks. But wont pass prime atm. I have to mess around a bit with settings cause i changed 1642mhz memory to 2179 this week instead of haswell upgrade ........
Full stable at 4956mhz at 1.44vcore ran prime for 8 hours id say thats good enough :P

So ye if anyone got 5ghz ivy for sale i5 or i7 gemme a shout we can figure something out :D

PS. I got Intel OC extended warranty on this chip so i dont care if it fries at all. And tbh anyone going pass 4.8 should buy it. Does not cost much and you clock till it dies :D

I wonder what exactly is 'Haswell Refresh' ? Is this akin to 2700k compared to 2600k ??

I seem to be having stability issues on the MSI x87 g64 gaming motherboard, temps were all under 60c yet i got a WHEA error and the ssd couldnt be seen again until i removed the 4.3ghz overclock, even after bumping up vcore a little.
