***Official Ivybridge Overclock Thread***

I would if my temps were ridiculous but my system never goes over 60'C and I'm happy to pump v1.3 through it, no higher. I've finally built my dream computer, I don't want to ruin it hah :D

I can understand, are you on 1.3v in bios? If so, your temps are pretty good going by screeen shots ive seen. With the way my temps are going, i may have to seriously consider going back to my lian li a70f case. Airflow in it is far superior to the shinobi. In game it was hitting 58c max going by the g15 keyboard lcd.

Thing is you can be stable on p95 and ibt but when it comes to gaming it crashes to desktop,I'm guessing its down to the pcie bus being linked/inside the CPU so you need atleast one/two clicks maybe more on CPU v

Had that before wazza, 12 hour small fft/blend, 20 pass ibt stable cpu fail in game in seconds. Bfbc2 being the most notable, that game could expose instability very quickly.

Tried the following earlier. Ran it for an hour without issues.

vcore, 1.2900, (1.272 @load, llc on high)
pll, 1.65v
dram, 1.57500.
vccsa, 1.01875

But im getting freezes when playing bf3. Have to ctrl alt del, error saying bf3 has stopped working.

this is down to vcore you need to jump it up abit.had the same problem as you did.i just add 0.005v or so to stable it

I use offset mate to save power when I can. Yeah I advise on that when you get the time, my fans definitely add to the cool temperatures as I have real good airflow throughout my case.

You have a G15 too?! YES! Mine's been kicking ass about 7 years now :D

Bumped vcore a couple of notches, (1.3v). Gave p95 a quick run. 73c max, will probably climb if left to run a bit longer.

Airflow in the shinobi xl is woeful tbh. The A70F has a grill front with dual 140mm fans, and a fan caddy with a 120 in 3 of the 5.25 bays. I got a 5-7c rise in temps on my old 920 when switching from the A70 to the shinobi.

The G15 is fantastic, use the v1 on both my desktop systems.

Mine was very similar Setter ran nice and cool at 4.4 with 1.22v but needed 1.3v for 4.5.
Was prime stable and all that jazz at 1.26 but had whea errors and needed a bump to 1.3v
I decided 4.4ghz was the better option.

Just been on bf3, was playing fantastically well. In game for just over 15 mins. Server crashed, "you were disconnected from ea". All players, so no problem on my end.

The extra cpu speed really helps smoothen the game a little. Though i did get better minimum fps on my old hyperthreaded 920.

Had to turn HT off as temps were too high and it needed more voltage.

Since I mostly game though this isn't too big of an issue.
