***Official Ivybridge Overclock Thread***

I can do 2200mhz on this gigabyte board but the read/write copy figures are less than they are if at 2133mhz,the latency is slightly less at 2200mhz though

9-11-11-21-1t timings @1.55dram v

Lapping seemed to work better for me when both the cpu and cooler were done. An old q6600 and TRUE cooler i had were lapped. Put the same cooler onto a non lapped q9550, temps were pretty much the same with an unlapped model of the same cooler.

Went back to the bios I was using before the sticking multiplier happened and all is good, version 1504.

Got it running at 4.7GHz - v1.33~35 - CAN'T WAIT TO DELID!

Yea heard 1504 is golden.I am gonna have to use flashback utility or get someone to write me a custom 1504 with the raid oroms for trim.I dont suppose you know the orom that bios has?I ned 11.2+ for trim.

Also got me some 2x8GB 2133mhz kingston and so far seems stable at stock settings and volts.Comes with two XMP profiles for 2133 and 1600 which is handy.Less sticks = less stress on IMC and i used the A2B2 slots as suggested by Asus.Next is 4700mhz again and 2133mhz 1T.

This was taken about 5-10 seconds before IntelBurnTest Success box appeared....
I had to do it this way as it is a Turbo OC....

vCore - 1.275
Turbo Clock 42
PLL - 1.65

Turboclock42_zpsf2363c77.png

However trying to set XMP Profile for the ram to 'Profile1' ALWAYS results in a failed boot.....to the point where I get a BIOS Message box giving me 3 options.

1. Load Optimal settings
2. One I cant remember
3. Enter BIOS

Any Ideas ?

A Good RAM Tester please ?

have you tried manually setting it to 1600mhz and the rated dram voltage for it? usually 1.5 or 1.55v

might be better than xmp

I don't thinkso, there used to be memtest86 you could run from within windows but they must have stopped it now as I cant find it

testing in dos is the best way itll flashup red if any errors found

Just tried manually setting 1600 and 1.5v and nothing...... same error as above....

If I use XMP enabled it fails.......
XMP - Disabled > manual 1600 and 1.5v ....... same result....

I'm starting to think that either mobo slots are glitchy, or have bad ram....

^^^ That'll teach me

use a usb stick, extract the bios to desktop drag the bios.bin file to the memory stick and reboot press f8 in the bios and update through qflash

beta's are fine im using one on this up4 th,always used them since my gigabyte x58 ud5 and never had an issue

I would try beta as they contain latest fixes,i could only run Samsung green at 1866mhz till I went beta, now they run 2200mhz

its upto you but I can safely recommend them
