***Official Left 4 Dead 2 Thread***

Completed this over the weekend at a lan with my friends, and goodness me it is so good. Each campaign is brilliant, Hard rain is a masterpiece (all four of us panicked and started screaming at the first storm). We wimped out and played on normal with realism on after a few attempts at advanced. We wern't up for the challenge at the time (couple of us wern't up to form) but it was still an awesome experiance. To come up with things that were bad with l4d1 is a short list, and l4d2 just improves nearly everything.

Extra kudos for body mutilation, pity the specials can't be damaged in the same way though.

I'll check when I get home, but try putting (I think its this) "-SW" in the startup launch bit, as then the game will start in windows mode, so you can then get past the video and change options from there!

I've tried "-windowed", which seemed to at least force it to windows mode, if not fix the crashing problem.

I'll try -"SW" also...I mean, what have I go to lose? :)

Only problem with the damage to the normal zombies is that the best place to shoot them is now the leg!!

A normal shot, even on expert, will usually remove a limb, so if its a leg they automatically die because they aren't scripted or animated to crawl or limp etc. so why bother aim for a small bobbing target when you have 2 large objects to shoot for. legs also have the advantage of being low, so you are automatically shooting into the floor which helps cut down stray bullets into friendlies or distant witches.

Shame really as its quite funny to shoot off their arms and realise they are still running towards you to give you a good head butt! Crawling would have increased realism loads.

I agree with this, but it never gets old seeing a zombie just go limp and barrel roll after being shot even if there is no crawling animation. I guess they tried this and found out that crawling targets are too hard to see so people can take a few hits without noticing after a horde has been all but killed, all to keep the pace up i suppose.

Good point Sh4rky, I've noticed that too!

Although there is nothing more satisfying than watching a zombies head go pop and disappear in a rain of blood :D

I used to have regular crashes in Counter-Strike:Source but not in any other game. I tried every fix in the book but it still went pop.

Eventually after many reboots I found it worked if I slackened of my RAM timings even though all the memory testers said it was 100% OK

Keep getting booted to desktop with the error below, only happens on the mall and so far I only get it in Scavenge mode. It's horribly annoying though, happens quite a bit :/ Anyone got any ideas? There's a thread on the steam forums about it but doesn't seem to be much info in there other than a lot of people saying they got the problem or moaning at Valve about it.
