***Official Left 4 Dead 2 Thread***

I probably won't be able to until the end of May now unfortunately.....

Kinda a bit pointless in me posting in that other thread I guess.

I'm totally taking your spot.

As if I had a say in it.

(But seriously, if you're in my team and reading this, we need to play some games together)

I had 4 games of team versus today, the other team raged in every single one as soon as it became clear we were better than them :(
I was even reduced to asking tefal and his mob for a game. No reply :(

oh that was you?

None of us knew who you where and where already in a game :o

Lol, tefal did actually say he'd had an invite from someone but no-one knew who it was, becides we were having a good game kicking some other teams butts. :D

I'd be up for a team vs though if you want to organise a game instead of playing randoms who rage, i'll warn you though Steve only brought the game last week so reigning him in from running off is still a full-time job for Tefal, Ellu and myself. You really ought to be able to equip some sort of tether to wrap around steves neck so he can't go too far without rubber-banding back to the group. This has got us killed on more that one occasion :D

I managed to finish the parish single player on expert last night. Took me five restarts to do the second map (all on the short 'run and gun' section where you need to switch off the alarm), but the rest went without incident.

Fun times...

Steve just runs along to spawn all the horde, but he's running fast enough it always spawns behind him an on us. because of this he believes he's killing everything, yet we're the ones with all the common on our faces the entire map ;)

last night on parish 4, he managed to get upstairs in the first building (before the drop) while me and defrag were still in the safe room due to spit, trying to cover tefal who was fighting off horde and specials in the little courtyard... steve's tactic is very useful :|

Sounds like an interesting tactic

Can't wait until I can play with real people again... Although, I guess, at least bots don't don't run off ahead and leave their team-mates to get spanked!

You mean you actually need to decide between wasting loads of health to save him or just letting him die?

:p
he's sometimes a useful shield, and worth points (unfortunately). so his life is a bit more important than it should be ;)

When we were playing the guard the gnome type game mode, it was very amusing having the overall tactic of "protect steve", it was hard to achieve

Nice one. That's the part I got stuck on with bots. I only tried it 3 times and then gave up. The bots are useless at that part, they cant keep up and by the time i reached the alarm they were all dead.

In the end I did the following:

Move slowly towards alarm structure scaffolding, so the bots can keep up (crouch-walking using the sniper rifle to clear oncoming zombies works well).

Once you reach the alarm structure, throw a bile bomb into the main courtyard, and leg it up to switch off the alarm. the bile bomb should give the bots enough space to clear the zombies around them, and then join you on the scaffolding. Once all four of you are up there, defending against the remaining attack shouldn't be a problem (unless a charger manages to get up there!).

The bots are very annoying at times, but at least they're predictable. Quite an interesting challenge to survive with them I find :)
