***Official Left 4 Dead 2 Thread***

I wasn't knocking the 8 vs 8 Link, but 10 vs 10 is chaos. It's only 4 extra players but they've also got incaps crawling and able to revive themselves with the crouch button. You can also choose what zombie you spawn as but you can't be the same one twice in a row.

Oh god, that had me laughing hard. No Mercy 3 in under a minute. With 2 full survivors and the other two making it just outside near the ambulance.

In other news, my lack of experience is shining through recently, I'm not as good as I once was. Therefore, I think I'm in need of a little "in game assistance" if you know what I mean *nudge nudge wink wink*.

Anyone help me out with that at all?

That doesn't sound even close to balanced tbh... just the typical cluster**** most people create when they do increased player cap servers.
 
Had an interesting game just now, versus a bunch of good players but all apparently only owning l4d2 9boguht last week in sales) but then saying they'd played l4d1 and denying all knowledge of apparently not owning l4d1 :p

Either way as a good challenging game.

yeah was still a good game though :p

nice for a challenge :D


safe room was reach every round, (we won on dmg each round though tbh 74 points ain't a comfortable lead into a finale :p) and on the one round people died we both lost p1 person in roughly the same space (but we killed their guy 24 points before they killed ours. so got about the same lead as if we'd all made it).

everyone survived finale too.
 
That was a good game apart from someone abandoning it on the shortest finale ever, if you've played for an hour and a half 5 minutes is nothing :(

Not sure who mutilator or twisted are but whoever you are, good game to you two and evilsod, we did well, some nice cheeky timed attacks :D
 
What's the view here on "cheating" the lift event in No Mercy 3? By that, I mean using a melee weapon to break down the door, avoiding the need to go up in the lift and start the event...

I just played a game of no mercy. We were behind, but killed them all at the event. When it was our turn one of the team broke down the door and took the shortcut. I said that I considered this to be cheating and wouldn't go through, so they kicked me...

So, what is the consensus here? Legitimate exploit or unfair shortcut? To me it completely bypasses the most difficult part of the map, so can't be considered fair? But that said, I presume that Valve have no problem with it being used, since they haven't patched in a fix...

I'd be a bit miffed if the opposing team tried that in fairness but since it hasn't been patched out yet then it would be a valid enough tactic, if extremely lame.

The only thing to do in a case like this is agree that neither team will exploit this failing in the map.

Yeah I know where you mean. The bit outside with the gas station that you can blow up and then have to press the button to raise the forklift truck thing to get you up to the high platform to run across into the open window.

In a versus game, it's an exploit plain and simple. It completely avoids the event and does not give the opposing infected side any chance to attack them on the ledge. If they did that on any server I owned, instant ban tbh.
