***Official Left 4 Dead 2 Thread***

i played for the first time last night and just seemed to find an opponent try a special move it seems to do nothing and then die repeat... if i knew what each attack does i might have an idea when or where to use.... and there must be some kind of strategy to where you should position yourself for each kind of attack etc.... also does the first attack run out? do you have to wait? is the swipe any good? does 1 shot from an enemy usually kill a zomb?

play through the campaign and see how the different special infected play around you.

Situational.
 
play & learn is the way to go :) but on your question, not sure if there is a guide anywhere, good luck finding one. until you do though, learn by playing ;)
 
smoker- primary attack, move your cross-hair over a survivor, when it turns read elft click you will send your tongue out and pull him towards you, you have to get used to judging how far the tounge will reach thoug it wont go on for ever.
Try and pull them off ledges/back from drops.


Hunter - primary hold your crouch button to charge your pounce when it's full press left click to jump on a survivor and tear him a new one.
Aim slgihtly up as you travel in an arc.
Try and use your pounce to get to high places the further you fall/travel the more dmg you do.

Boomer- primary attack vomit, spawn ahead of survivors, and veryclose to them then left click and puke on them this will attract a horde and blind them.
be carefull you're very noisy and very weak don't spawn too soon or you'll get shot and killed.

Spitter - primary attack fires a glob of acid out and forms a pool, try and hit survivors when they are boomed/traped i na room by they horde so they can't escape.


Charger, primary attack makes you fun full pelt into the survivors (you can't stear after triggering ir -left click) so line up down a corridor and ram into them first one you hit you'll grab and carry away, any others will be knocked aside for 10 dmg.
TRy and charge people off ledges/into water.

jokey, primary attack you jump on thier head and can then control the survivor till knocked off or killed, try to run them into spitter goo or off ledges.
Your jump is very short range you have to be stood next to the survivor to get them.

Tanks- primary punch, does what it says on the tin send survivors flying, try to punch them off ledges/into water
Secondary throw a rock, once you press the button you will be stood still while you rip a cunck of concrete from the ground and throw it at them. aim well and do it from cover as your a sitting duck.

The tank is slower than a survivor on green health chasing them will get you killed unless you can out manuver them.

Melee weapons will rip you apprt as a tank so at first its best to throw rocks from afar til lthey are boomed then go in while they're blind and being slowed down by zombies.

You can read about the art of war all you like, it will never prepare you for the real thing. There are guides out there i imagine but if you don't have a reasonable understanding of the game, it won't help at all.
 
or... tefal will write out a mini-guide :) now you have to work out which infected you are by the hands on the screen, I always mess up spitter/smoker :)

No you do damage every few seconds with the tongue automatically.

Jokey also does a little dmg when he;s riding people automatically hunter swipes when on people automatically.

smoker does damage automatically once you got them stuck or pulled right into you :) charger/hunter/jockey also do damage automatically once you have the attack done :)

i have my good moments
and moments of utter fail

just seem to have the utter fails a lot more now than ever before?? could it be that im slowly weening myself off the scotch?
and yes the only way to molly your team mates is in time to sweet banjo music.

game tonight at 6?
