***Official Left 4 Dead 2 Thread***

just had a quick run through on single player. saw 1 fallen survivor, no golf club, no m60 and the l4d1 characters can be ignored.

anyway, back to team vs tomorrow

Sadly i have to agree that overall i thought it was pretty poor, the L4D1 characters interaction with the players is none existant and to be honest i had no idea what was going on in the entire campain.

I dont know whether it was a broken run through but there is a sever lack of explanation of why you are doing anything. It wasnt until i actually finished the campain that I realised why i was actually doing all the running around.

I however found it hilarious that the M60 is super powerful and crazy accurate....BC2 anyone? ;)

****No Speech Bug****

Ok ive had a look around turns out there is a bug preventing any of the character interactions with anything at all

To fix it -

  • Delete anything in your add ons folders

    Verify game cache

You should be good to go

    :)

Does that mean you can't put anything back in the add-ons folder and it still work?

Very underwhelming. Interaction with L4D1 crew is just that really, nothing exciting at all.

Three level campaign, about the best bit was the charge for the safe room at the end of the second level.

Also, Valve have managed to make the AI worse, twice I was left to die by bots stuck inside walls, floors, or their own thick skulls. I know it's a heavily MP game but if you're not going to bother to code bots properly, why have them at all?

I'd give it 5/10. It's not terrible, but i'd be stretched to call it good. Very meh, very disappointing.

Bot AI has been getting progressively worse since L4D first came out tbh. The weird part is even the L4D bots are doing it...

Seriously i can't count the number of times i've had to save the retarded ass bots who just stand there surrounded by zombies doing NOTHING. Nor can i count the number of times a bot (usually Nick) has healed himself in the saferoom without a spare kit while on GREEN HEALTH! And countless other stuff.

Well as I said, it's that they managed to make them worse this time around. They've gone from useless to actually being a total liability.

the bots are just there to cover a few minutes while someone is dc'd they don't have the pathing to do all the weird routes survivors take.

also there's no way in hell anyone is finishing the second or third levels in vs.

Does that statement include vanilla? :p

Some fairly tough spots in the game, particularly the finale which is basically Dead Center all over again except spread over a much bigger area.

The tight corners and alleys are going to make for some very interesting vs games, I can't see anyone surviving maps two and three at all.

As said, the character interaction was very meh, it was a good idea just poorly implemented.

I enjoyed it though, short and sweet.

Unless you're up against a very crap team, yes.
