** Official Mayhems Development Log **

stuie : Pastel can be reused, run it though a Coffee filter to remove any crap and then re use it :). it has a life span max of 3 years if looked after (2 years if abused).

NoNameNoNumber : H20 need a Biocide such as a kill coil. How ever if you have your PC in direct Sun light id suggest using Biocide extreme instead.

Greboth personally i wouldn't store it in a res i would put it back in the bottle it came in. I cannot comment on storing it in a res as that bring in way to many variables.

Devious ST - Depending on the fluid

XT-1 Down the drain / Out side
X1 - Down the drain / Out side
Pastel either take it to your local dump and get rid the same you would oil or you can send it back to us and we will dispose of it when we have our other waste picked up.
Aurora - Down the drain / Out side

It's the uv green x1

Yes that can be poured down the drain with no issues what so ever.

Pastel does separate out over time when first used (over a few days) how ever the more you use it the better it becomes its part of the nature of the nano fluid. Dont worry though as soon as you turn you pump on it remixes back in.

You say Mayhems fluid has a maximum lifespan of 3 years. What is the problem with using it for longer? Is it that it cant transfer the heat as well? That is clogs up blocks etc?

If it is heat related have you tested say... 4 or 5 year old fluid against new fluid?

I only ask as I know someone who bought a pre-built watercooled PC with blue fluid about 6 years ago and it still has the same fluid in it. His temperatures don't seem that bad to be honest. I did clean his blocks for him a year or so ago as they were a bit gunged up however. I didn't know how old the fluid was at the time otherwise I would have recommended that he replaces it at the same time.

Inhibitors lose there effectiveness after about 1 to 2 years how ever the Nano fluids prolong the life as they block out light and this help in the longevity of the fluids. We say 3 years max as that is our test time as in we have physically has it in a fully running system now for 3 years with no issue what so ever. So we can state this as a true fact not just some made up figure.

Aurora contains nothing that can harm the environment pastel contains Zn0 which can.

Thanks :)

I believe his is some other companies fluid though. Nothing fancy like Mayhems Pastel i'm afraid.

So is 3 years the decided upper limit for the coolant or are you going to continue to run the system to see if it can last 4 years for example?

We stopped at 3 years i needed to update the PC. The pc was left in a running state for 3 years with out being touched ;).

@LurkingWeasel Normally Pastel will stay white and any yellowing colour is from the tubing. I normally recommend Primochill Advance and any hard tubing seems to do the trick as well :).

Last night Mayhems went to the Star Radio North East Business Awards http://www.thisisstar.co.uk/community/businessawards.php.

The way i flush a system is

we run a mains tap direct to the pc and flush the system under the main for a minimum of 15 min (do not run it on full only about 1/4 turn). So that's 15 min (minimum) of fresh water going though the system and straight down the drain.

Then fill with cheap DI water and 1 Table spoon of bicarbonate of soda and let it run in the system for another 15 to 30 min.

Drain out

Fill with fresh coolant.

The Old Coolant can re bottled back up and either taken down the waste disposal and left with the oil deposits section or you can send it back to us and it will be disposed off with our normal chemical collections.

Sorry for rather late replay lost my passcode. UV effects on pastel are very hard to do because pastel is actively rejecting UV light.

In Dev

These are not like any thing out there atm. They are pure 100% guaranteed over kill ...

One is 60mm High FPI (why .... because we can)
One is 60mm Normal FPI

These are Mayhems QPTTHF Rads :)

When you get it there is an instruction manual explaining every thing you need to know and how to do it all. There is a really good guide but youll need to google it "mayhems blitz namron" and this explains a lot.

Mick

its unusual but normally any debris can effect the colour e.g if it turning colour then the coolant iss doing its job and lifting the crap off your rads and suspending it and protecting your hardware. Red is a fickle colour and if you system has any crud lying in wait it will effect the red colour.

No there are two main kits, "Mayhems Blitz Pro" Which is for rads and PC as a whole. The first part is only made to cleans rads separately and the second part is for the entire loop. The "Mayhems Blitz Basic" kit is for the entire system but doesn't acid bath the rads (which part one does in the pro kit).

@uksoldierboy i understand that just stating why we brought out such a high end cleaning kit.
