** Official Mayhems Development Log **

Oh well the base ingredients are market up to turn up on the 15th of Aug then it will be made on the 16th,17th and 18th, and should be down at the warehouse by the 19th were we will then put it up on sale. Thats if and only if they do turn up.

Hi there ribj20. Mayhems Pastel Red is very PH sensitive this mean the liquid need be be kept around Ph 7.5 if at all possible Give or take +/- 1 Ph. So if you system has not been flushed correctly and you have elements of solder or flux left over then it can easily change the colour of the dye in you system. To balance it out better before you use any liquids in you system we recommend you first clean your system with water (tap water will do) then using Bicarb (the baking soda you can get from any shop) mix 1 TSP with some water and rinse the system though again (this will neutralize any acid in the system), then finally flush with DI water.

Because you have had a issue you can contact me at "michael at mayhems dot co dot uk" i will replace your fluids. All i need off you is you receipt (prof of purchase) your full name and address and telephone number and a little link point to this thread.

Robj20 i haven't got an email (not showing in out look or my spam) from you so ill use this link system and try contacting you directly. Bugger you have no email on here. [blah blah} if that doesn't work try yadda yadda (back up email) please email me as soon as i have it ill del this message.

Nano UV Active Colour Pigment Coolant

Just got back off my secret mission. Confirmation... Mayhems has created the first ever "Nano UV Active Colour Pigment Coolant". This is some thing we've been working on a for a while and still needs more work but for thouse of you that do not like dyes well this doesn't contain any what so ever and we can make it in many different colours. including a real UV Orange ,UV Red,UV Pink ect ect.

But what does this all mean?

Well imagine a coolant that is UV active that doesn't lose colour, that doesn't care what PH level your system is or what blocks you are running or how hot it is as it will still look the same . Well this is what we are developing and working on right now and its just been confirmed as stable and active and to a nano scale.

Project Decimation confirmation.

Its also been independently confirmed today that project Decimation at 40c is 10% more efficient than water at moving heat from one location to another. At 30% its 5% and Below its minimal. How ever we still have a lot more work to do with Project Decimation but we will keep you informed.

@flame696 no nothing has changed its actually red in colour depending on lighting. Some people add more deep red dye or Red dye and adjust it to there needs. Mayhems products are flexible so you can achieve your own colour that is suited to you needs.

@pgi947 thks :)

Ladies and Gents we have taken on a new support member who will introduce him self soon. They will be dealing with any questions from now on and any information and support.

I will be spending more time hidden in my bat cave :)

Hi there. please email me , [email protected] with pic of you invoice, your full name and address and telephone number and i will sort it out. There are several things that can be an issue being PH balance, did you flush the system, did you have copper sulfate in the build previous , is there flux left in the rad ect ect ect. How ever fire me an email with the details requested and ills end out some new stuff .

All getting sorted since ToxicTBag is just a few miles up the road from me ive made him up some Pastel Orange and ill pop it over tonight and pick up his liquid so i can take a look at it and see what the issue is.

ToxicTBag - been running test this morning on the fluids.

Flux ... Ive filtered it down and stuck it under the microscope and we can see tiny particles of sticky flux so it looks like even though you've done your best to get what you can out, you may still have this problem for a while as the flux is still leaching into the water. The best advise for now is run your system with water + biocide for 1 month or even premix (if you need some just gis a shout ill bring some up) then flush again then switch to pastel. The partial count is also though the roof as is the PH of the liquid which explains it all.

If you need any thing else don't hesitate to contact me.

Btw every one what a nice bloke :) and make brill cups of tea...

You don't really want to go aggressive if you send me over you details with a recipient showing what you have bought we will replace the fluids no issues. How ever you never what to use any thing aggressive in your system, Think of it as a delicate ecological system if you put some thing to strong in there it will have long lasting implications. Some times, time is all it takes.

Copper radiators + Colour based Coolants.

Mayhems have been looking into a reported issue about the Red based coolants changing colour (Red to Dark Red and Black to Brown). This is a very rare issue but has been narrowed down a certain type of radiator.

When testing we found that just adding water and leaving overnight will turn the water Acidic meaning that either the rads have not been flush or somehow there is still acid left in the system. When acid is left on copper and air is introduced (in particular oxygen) it will create Copper Oxide over time. Copper Oxide is Blue / Green and this has a negative effect on colour coolants and will also have a negative effect on all coolants over time. (in the picture you can see a rad that has been not been cleaned turning the red coolant a deeper colour)

So say a Red coolant exposed to Copper Oxide it will start turning Dark Red (Red + Blue / Green = Dark Red). If Black is exposed Copper oxide it will turn Brown (Purple + Yellow + Copper Oxide = Brown)

It is imperative that rads are flushed properly and before use. If air is somehow trapped in a rad and the liquid is somehow acidic then once again copper oxide is created and again it will affect any coolants in the system. Some coolants do not react well with copper oxide and could over a period of time have an issue.

If somehow air is trapped in your rad end tank and the liquid is acidic once again it will produce copper oxide and once again this will affect any coolants in your system. Always make sure you remove all air out of you system and bleed them correctly.

Always flush your system fully and correctly and sometimes water alone does not do it. If you are going to acid clean your system using vinegar then you must neutralize that acid afterwards. You can use bicarbonate of soda to help do this or head down to your local aquarium shop and ask for animal safe products to bring the PH level back into neutral.

Also on a side note never add Copper Sulfate Biocide to Pastel as again the above will happen and if you have used copper sulfate in your system before using red pastel make sure you flush it out correctly.

We do not recommend you using Pink unless you really need to. UV pink stains and we warn people about this. UV Red is never red its always pink and if you going for a blood red look then there is no point making it UV active as it will be drowned out by the darker colors.

It seems to be working fine with no issues. As per the norm though UV pink stains but every thing else seems to be running fine with no issues spotted so far.
