Good stuff, I’m pretty much there for ideal. I don’t think there’s enough between the 2070S and the 2080 to make much of a significant difference.
By the time it is out you will likely be on a 3070 which will be better than a 2080 anyway :p

My only concern is will 16gb RAM really hold it back. As my 3600 at 4.4ghz is as good as 2700X anyway. Plus at 4K I am not sure if I will be CPU bound, but GPU bound again, even with 2080Ti performance or there abouts which I recon the 3070 will be.

I have an RX 580what would be a better card? Running a 2700x and 32gb of ram.
5700XT. Nothings available from AMD that meets ideal spec yet, but the 5700XT should be very capable at 1080 or 1440p.

2080’s are really getting on now and very overpriced at present, as are 2070 and 2080 supers.

Anyone that wants to touch high or ultra needs atleast 32gb ram and a 8 core. It completely pans my 3600 to death. Just not good enough for ultra :p

The 5700xt does about 60fps on high end settings just under ultra at 1440p

OK, so seems I definitely need another 16gb. I will either buy another 16gb if I see a good deal on members market or just wait until zen4 comes out and go 32gb ddr5 then.

At 4K I may still be GPU limited I recon at 4.4GHz. But who knows, by the time this is out I may just get a 4700X and another 16GB RAM. Then pass my 3600 down to my partner.

I will need a whole new system if I want to use it with good performance. Currently 4690k/GTX 970 will be ok for the time being. Glad I am planning a new build.

Don't knock it, I agree a proper joystick etc. is better but the XBox controller gives you all the important features in a small and portable form. When I'm out and about with the laptop it's what I tend to take with me. I have full analogue control of the ailerons/elevators plus the rudder. There is full look around using the 2nd joystick plus buttons for trim, gear, brakes etc.

Apparently if you wanted to save all the game data locally you would need a 2Pb/2000Tb hard drive.

Nice to see games coming out that actually push the envelope of what's possible with current hardware.

Yea I think I will stick with the streaming data option :)
Always avoided Virgin for gaming but may have to rethink that as an option.
